I Got da RAG AKA Zine ~ Feb 26th 2 PM PST
(Sent Feb 24) (2 days from Florida is fast to California)

The Florida Funnies ("TFF")

I am only to page 17 @ 3PM PST and my eyes are wet with laughter.

Laying waste to all forms of restrained thought, and in the box thinking.
Ira has made his mark, like a dog on the hydrants of Coral Springs.
Irreverent and twisted prejudice runs the gantlet of his mind, for sure.
His territory of laughter will take hold as his rag spreads out over the land.

I am enjoying my first go through as I write this post.

Thank you, Ira for the mirth and out right gut pulling laughter.

I loved the CS Library books for kids... & Learning Spanish
Every darn word has to be read in this Zine
so as not to miss one pull of the mind, and of Ira's wit~

Stevie likes it~ :D

PS: The paper used and layout of this Zine seems like the best quality with
pictures that really do set off the articles in the intended light.
A very professional look in my opinion.

That fast, huh?

Thanks for the nice words, Steve. Can't take credit for the library page because that was repurposed material from the internet. However, my heart swells with pride on how I created that artwork.

A lot of you will also see your jokes in my jokes pages--stolen from our Humor of the Day thread right here. (I owe each of you a buck.)

MY FIRST E-MAIL TO THE EDITOR!!!

I'm so proud.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subject: Funny as sh**

Dear Ira Rather,

Coming from someone who has found humor in many genres, this magazine of yours i just read is ****ing hilarious-being a writer myself, it takes real genius to engage my intelect, and you guys hit the tampon on the string, no, i regress, you hit a home run, with the bat Jackie Robinson used to fend off his white counterparts, on the Dodgers- and your right, **** the news, give people what they want-a real dose of the sad saga that is Coral Springs.

A few ideas for future issues-22 year old want to be gangsters, tough street hoods that grew up in the slums of C.S.. The idea, that businesses can't put up neon signs promoting their business because of city regulations, a look at the Coral Square Mall, and a shout out to the true men and women that control the protection of the city-rent-a cops-in gated communities-anyway.

I'm just brainstorming, and that is a good thing for you, since you got my previously brain dead mind to think about the wonderful city that i call home-keep up the good work and e-mail me back with the info on where i can pick up the next issue, since i found this one on the bathroom floor of a local bar.

Keep up the good work!

Anthony Utter

I got your Rag yesterday, or I should say Kriss did. I came home from work and she said "You got this magazine in the mail and it is the funniest damn thing I have ever read. Where did it come from and can we subscribe to it?" I forgot to tell her it was coming.

I only got a glance over her shoulder at it, as she was filling in the quiz questions :fb . Hopefully I will get to read it tonight.

Thanks Ira,
Got the mag today, that's some funny stuff. Flipped to the center first and it happened to be on McDonald's. The wife manages a Micky D's and was complaining the day before about her employees not being able to make simple change. I thought I'd wet myself when I read that, how true it is. :applause: :applause: :applause:

IMO:

Post office workers in Canada are slackers.

Mail don't move uP there in ways that would show the true expression of
the Canadian spirit.

Have mailed uP there for about 8 years and you would think that the boarder
uP there is treated like the way I wish the Southern boarder of the USA would
be treated. Packages are scrutinized to the max. Don't even think of not
filling out the customs form and the right one. Mail don't move on Saturday
I think and these mail carriers seem to have a strong will and Merican
packages need not put express delivery. No need ... they are on friendly
Canadian time NOT type A personage time. No worry ... no rush for they
who move mail uP in Maple leaf country. Guess they smell the roses more
often then we Merican's. Makes me think that our mail persons are being
abused. What ever the reason ... unlike Dudley do Right and the Mounted
Police ... the mail persons uP there don't move mail with the motto like
here in the USA ... where sleet and snow and all forms of bad weather will
not ever stop the flow of mail in an alacritous way.

I love Canadians ... but the mail system = nope~
It must be a customs thing... and a stereotype that I am afflicted with.
Across the boarder to the North ... they stop mail .... like we should be
stopping the massive wave of humanity that routinely breaks our
sovereignty laws, on our boarders to the South.

I can't wait till I get my copy....but I'm sure the California "political correctness squad" is censoring it....not here yet...now don't ruin it for all of us by telling all the good stuff....but I'll admit...I'm really looking forward to it...It will have a prominent place in the vintage magazine rack I'm creating/installing in the Rocketear....Doug
