On the way to work, along HWY 50 a new dealer just opened up a shop for mostly motocross bikes and accessories, some ATV stuff...I check it out every day as they wheel out all the iron for display...but today...I noticed a vintage either 90 or 110 Honda trail bike, with a rifle scabbard mounted to it in the lineup...absolutely primo!!!....Funky, yeah...but I've done the motocross stuff/Jap road bikes and have no desire for that any more, I'm too old...Might be a good time to check them out as the weather is crappy, snow/rain...etc....not a good time to sell a bike...I might check it out tomorrow...I've been looking for something like this to stick on the front of the Rocketear...I'll see if he is out of control on the price..... :thinking:

Uh I don't want to be indelicate here but you didn't strike me as a particularlly short, or little fella. How you gonna ride that.

that's the beauty of one of those...it can handle it...and as I recall. the rear shocks have an adjustment to beef them up for a stiffer ride, to help out with my "bulk"...and if it really gets bad...either the 2nd sprocket if it's a 90 or a flip lever if it's a 110 for a lower end...they can climb a tree!!!!....It's just for fun...not serious transportation anyway....just the look and some fun....PS...you can flop a deer on the back rack and bring them out....doug

Miriam...the 90/110 trail bikes had the same saddle height as a regular bike...you're probably thinking about the smaller ones from the late 60's early 70's...like the QZ 50 etc, I forget the "official" nomenclature....but that's OK...as I know you are a Gurl, I'll give you a break...so how is the trailer coming along? .......Doug :lol:

Doug...go for it...I've been looking for one (actually 2) of those for a number of years now. Problem is that in Juneau...even with low miles, they look pretty bad from pitting from the salt water, and prices are high because they are in demand from people that load them up in boats and haul them to old logging areas for hunting.

My neighbor down the street bought an older Rokon a couple of years back. He spent an incredimal amount refinishing the chrome (shipping the pieces south) but it looks great now!!!! That thing is a tank...I had the joy of taking it for a run after he finished. Lot's of difference, but it sure brought back my days of my Yamaha DT2 when I was a kid!! Memories are priceless!!!

that's it for me Dave...got my first bike back in 68 and want something similar, maybe not same vintage or make, mine was a Yamaha....and those Rokons are killer...2 wheel drive...had a neighbor in Anchorage that had them...and he used to hunt Dall Sheep and bear with a bow off one....I had a lot of respect for that guy....Doug

Oh yeah, the Trail 90, I had 2 of them before I could drive, the classic red and the newfangled yellow one. I had to push it on the street over to a dirt trail before I could ride (too young to have a license and too scared to get caught). I still remember going straight up hills that guys with their Husky 400s were afeared' of climbing. Those were great machines.

We used to have 2 Z-50's and a trail 90 :thumbsup:

The QA-50 was a little bit smaller than the Z-50 but alot of fun back when.

XL 75 an on / off road 3/4 size dirt bike by Honda

After a disasterous fire ( We moved in 1 brown paper bag) We had finally aquired the necessities like a house , clothes,shoes,and furnishings. We gave the kids each $200.00 to spend as they wanted. The 2 girls wanted even more clothes and girl stuff. Shawn wanted a motorcycle. Found this little bike and they wanted $250.00 we explained the dilemma and walked away with a sad little boy. The owner called out after us and took the $200.00 and handed us a title. As we were loading the little bike the owner walked over to Shawn and tucked a ten dollar bill in his shirt pocket and told him he might need gas money. Taught him and both girls to ride that summer. Mom , I and all 3 kids played with it for 2 or 3 years

Hey Doug!

I hope you can work a deal on the Honda. My dad had a red one when I was young. (did they come in any color other than red?) He was a hunter and had a scabbard on it like the one you are talking about. I rode it a time or two then didn't ride a motorcycle again until a couple of years ago when I took the motorcycle safety class. Now I really enjoy getting out on the Road King and just cruising. I really wanted to ride to work today but the forecast is for rain. <sign>

He finally sold the Trail 90 and bought a couple of Honda 3 wheel ATVs when they came out. We all enjoyed riding the ATVs, even my mom.

Guy...I've had a bike non stop since 1968, road and dirt bikes...and only recently got rid of the last dirt bike...I just putt any more...however it would be a drag to give up the 3rd gear wheelies my 500 used to pull...but I'm sure I'd be ok...no on road riding anymore, just when out camping...Doug

Dean...I was late getting to the store...had to shovel the driveway and run my neighbors up to the Safeway before I went to work, ah the beauty of 4WD especially in 2" of wet snow...I'm worried though...it showed up today out front with all sorts of nylon camo saddle bags on the rear end...I'm sure it's a high dollar unit...Doug :thinking:
