I don't know if they gave up replacing them or came to their senses and removed them. Most people travel at least 45 thru the booth area on these lanes :shhh: ;)

My sister-in-law got a letter telling her to slow down in the plaza. She commutes across what used to be called the Easy West Exy in Orlando.

I say screw that, if the service road speed limit is 50 and the road you are merging onto is 70. Why should you HAVE to slow down below 45 so that stupid thing can pick up your RFID tag. Let it take a picture, I'd prefer not to get rear ended.

Not so here in ABQ under the totalitarian regime of Mayor Martin J. Chavez. If you contest a photo ticket they charge you an additional $250 for that privilege. They haven't been sued yet, but if they ever send me one you can bet that will change.

Ok, have we done away with due process? I would think they would have to allow some sort of recourse. Perhaps your state is not under the "Bill of Rights."

Here in beutiful Girard, Oh. we had a CIB (cop in the box), that would take your picture if you were speeding and you got a ticket in the mail. It was not a criminal offense, but a civil one and you didn't get points on your license. If you didn't pay it went to collections etc.,etc., etc. The ticket went to the owner of the car--not the driver, could have loaned it to someone. Created so much trouble, someone kidnapped the box with the camera in it and sent a ransom note to the paper, returned the box by way of bridge jump. We don't know if the camera was pushed or it jumped. Had court hearings about legality and it was finally deemed unlawful and returned to the company that sold the city council on the GREAT IDEA. The city got 40% of the fine and the company got the rest. They moved it around from day to day, on diff. streets, but the local radio station had CIB reports in the mornings, what a joke all around, but it is the continuence of big brother wanting to watch everything.

Yes, we have. For those who have not been watching, George the Usurper has managed to eliminate Due Process (Gitmo), Separation of Powers (multiple "Signing Statements"), and even the Electoral College (see the results of the 2000 election). As Sinclair Lewis said, "When totalitarianism comes to America it will come wrapped in the flag and carrying the Cross."

I use the Sun Pass in Florida on the turnpike and other toll roads. I don't trust it to work at high speeds, so I always slow down going through the toll booths to make sure it registers, whether there's a gate or not.

My daughter bought this transponder whle she was living in Florida and gave it to me whens she left, so I didn't have to pay for it. Here, you charge the thing when it gets low...it's up to you. I like it because I don't stop to pay, and the toll is cheaper when using it. The transponder is supposed to be stuck on the windshield, but in this heat, it always falls off, so I just hold it up when I drive through a toll booth.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.
