Didn't those old Chrysler products have 6 volt electrical systems in the early fifties? Will that cause problems getting the 12 volt lights (I assume you have) on your tear to work?

A quarter of the way down that page is this immortal line:

"The fantasy starts this way: In front of you on your shop floor are four completely disassembled cars: a '49, a '50, a '51 and a '52."

Now that's real proper obsessional knowledge! It's good to know that an American old car nut can be just as 'bad' as a British old car nut.

And believe me when I say, the whole auto industry started going downhill when they started substituting rubber plugs for metal covers over gas tank sending units.........

This one has been upgraded with a 12 volt electrical system. The engine was rebuilt and now uses unleaded gas. All that work I don't have to do...

It's sitting in front of my house, but here's why I'm not working on it right now:

Does the car have 16in. wheels? Would be a nice touch to get wheel covers for the trailer to match the car. Will make a neat combo.

15" wheels with radial tires - so the tires must be new.

I guess I will start looking around in the local auto wrecking yards for extraneous pieces. Spaldings is a huge yard over in Spokane that may have some parts.
