Nooooo luck in finding the material here ... Just saw a few Large Bull Moose a few weeks ago but they are too big to fit in the tear...

Wife says cabelas is way too expensive....

Now... you got me going on that quilt search again. Since our theme is Yosemite I found this pattern of Yosemite Falls that will yield a 27" x 47" quilt. Now all we need to do is find someone locally to make it so we can stitch it into a store bought comforter. I hope it doesn't cost an arm and two legs. Danny

Danny...that type of quilt is a "landscape" quilt...Hoffman fabrics have a ton of materials out there to do what you want, mostly in batiks. Typically, you fuse the fabric to the substrate using a material called "seam a seam"...cut it out and then fuse it to your background, with a hot iron. Doug, besides not knowing anything about sewing with the exception of fixing a hole in a sox or jeans I have color blind issues that may prevent me from making a quilt on my own. My first cabinet shop job employer almost fired me for mixing antique brass & bronze screws on hinges until he ask me sarcastically if I was color blind. I'm still going to see if someone can make this for me. Danny

Danny since nobody here really has a clue as to what a tear drop is .. it wouldnt really matter on the quilt either...l

I again have a clue even though never experienced the nature of it ...
Hmm got to ask the wife nicely if she would start a quilt...

Storyquilt's(place of the website) store is about 10 miles from me. Maybe some folks in the store can help you out. Enen though the website says closed I still get flyers, the store I believe is just under new ownership.

Rick, Thanks for the link. I did a search and it seems there are quite a few quilting shops in my general area. It's funny when you have no interest in something you never see it, but today we saw a quilting shop on the way home. It seems quilting is a big deal at the Puyallup Fair. Danny

Gosh I am so glad this isn't a contest. That is an amazing piece of work. I can see why she would be offered so much for it.

if this is a queen size and it looks it---at beginning 2" squares (finish 1 1/2" squares) you would need over 3600 pieces. I know you builders will appreciate the accuracy needed to get this to lay flat.
