Am I alone or are others seeing the same thing...

I don't mean for this to be a rant...
But it sure looks to me like NASCAR is orchestrating the races...
Late race caution fests, phantom yellows and non calls ARE determining the outcome.
I also get the inking that the telecast crews are obeying Nascar's script of what the business of the day is gonna be and how they want it presented...
After DVRing my way through yesterday's mexican Busch race...
I really had my bellyfull of Dr. Jerry Punch's repeated comments on "Mr. Super Star-Formula One-Open Wheeled-Open The History Books-Montoya".... Talk about overplaying it.
It will be interesting to see how things play out next week at Vegas, where their new poster boy has to tackle an oval again.
My hunch is he'll crash in both races...
Don't get me wrong... Nothin' against Montoya, it just seems to me that he is the new "Chosen One"
I mean geeeze, look back at every race so far this season... CONTROVERSY, just what Brian France, the ring leader wants.
Well, his poster boy did good yesterday, but darned... He had to take out the leader (Fellow teamate) to do it.
If any of you long time Nascar fans think I'm totally off my rocker, please let me know...

Dean,

We would NEVER say you are off your rocker

THough I have to agree that things seem to be scripted or officials are being paid to look the other way

Off your rocker

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon Mar 05, 2007 4:31 pm

8) No sweetie, you are not off your rocker, but perhaps you should remove the cat's tail away from it before you go back and forth any more. Could NASCAR be going the way of WWE Friday Night Smack Down!!?? Do you think it's really fixed and they already know (have planned) who will be the winner? Is it a CONspiracy? Is Ricky Bobby's real father really his father?

Well I'll say it here too. If there aren't going to be NASCAR drivers running in the race they should take it off the circuit. That race was by no means a NASCAR race, where were the drivers. I didn't bother watching most of it but what I did see of it they only thing I heard was Monty this and that. Get a grip boys, he's not the only one at the party.
I'm not sure what happened with the cautions cause like I said, didn't see most of it but I figured something went on towards the end because the bits I did see of it Blaney was running in the mid 20's position and somehow he finished 13th??
I've never been a big fan of the road coarses and after seeing the line up yesterday I say drop them unless the cars driver is in it.

Yup, I'm rantin too Dean!!

I leave the rocker remark alone for now, but I reserve the right to comment later. 8) 8)

Well Dean, when there is this much money at stake...

Perhaps NASCAR is in the star making business and always has been. You are growing up son. 8)

I find it hard to believe the outcome is fixed with all the big time company's involved but look at the NFL and WWB.

Sure would be a lot of people to get to go along. Course if you said anything no one would believe you. And with millions to keep the mouth closed even if you don't win.....

Dean,
I haven't watched NASCAR since , well the time when you could buy just about the exact same type of car at your Local Chevy, Ford or Dodge dealership. Come over to the Lord and embrace the true sport: Air Racing! or try Open wheel racing. You'll be glad you did.

I love getting under the skin of my NASCAR buddies. I just tell tham that NASCAR is fixed, just like boxing. Was it a coincidence that Jr happened to win the year after daddy ate the wall?

Dean

My Son and I go to both races at Michigan, that track generally does not see a lot of cautions, most of the time. What this sets up is some one in the lead by half a lap or more many times. The last several years this hasn't happened. "Debris on the track" cautions (TV time outs) have ended this. Seriously considering giving up my tickets, it is an insult to fans for NASCAR to think we are blind to their "Barnum and Bailey" tactics.

I don't know if "fixed" is the word, but there are some questionable calls made...if any of it is orchestrated, it's got to be at the absolute highest levels as too many people have too much money involved to not squawk, and how would you keep that many people quiet about it? I gave up on Indy car as there was too much work being done on the car from the pits via electronics, and this seemed more like true racing...at least I still can understand these guys interviews...If it is fixed...who do you guys/gals think is the Don King character in it all...Helton? just wondering..and Dean...I think the pro curling circuit is still on the up and up.....Doug

No disrespect Dean but jeez have you just noticed that NASCAR is the WWE of racing?

I don't think that they actually pick the specific winner but on the other hand they do use all kinds of BS to influence the outcomes. Debris on the track cautions are the most obvious. How many times in a season do they "adjust" the rules to maintain "parity"?

NASCAR is about the spectacle, about entertainment, racing is not the number one priority, just like the WWE the show is the thing. There are good guys [Mark Martin] bad guys [that Busch twerp] and lovable bad guys [Smoke] and every shade in between. A circus in a circle!

Real racing happens on saturday night on some local bull ring. Stocks, midgets, sprints, modifieds and my personal favorite supermodifieds [unfortunately nearly gone from the west].

Holy moley I think I just did my own rant.

...fixed...like WWE...not hardly BUT NASCAR will do things to helpout the big money teams over the smallerguys...if you want pure racing, see hamcans post...or watch the Iditatrod and remember that on Sundays, there is always bowling and golf to get ya all fired excited...it's the spectacle son...it's the spectacle...
