Any thoughts?

He didn't advance position, He came back on the track in the same spot as he was before he left the track.

I had a solo road course version of a belt sander race once... Right on top of a $2,000.00 piece of glass. It was a special order 1/2" laminate with the McDonald's logo laminated inside of the glass. An employee who used the belt sander before me, left the trigger in the locked on position. I come along to sand the edges of this 8' x 8' piece of glass that had just arrived from Chicago, set the belt sander down on the table and bent down to plug it in to an extension cord...
Gentleman, Start Your Engine!!!
That thing shot off across that sheet of glass, reached the end of the cord and started doing a long sweeping arc across the glass before I could manage to unplug the cord.
We had a shop meeting right afterwards...

I dont know about fixing races but the no caution that kept Mark Martin from winning got me a little ticked off. That caution should have been thrown from the first crash.

Then that means the yellow car he hit and spun out was in last place. OK, that explains it. He was in first place and came out in first place. Thanks

...peronally, I find it to be Scott Pruetts fault...he knew Montoya was coming, he knew that M had a faster car and they were teammates and HE AND HIS SPOTTER should have been looking harder...Montoya had his nose under Pruett and Pruett came down on Montoya and spun himself out...at that point Pruett was a wrecked car and outta the lead and Montoya hadda go into the dirt to avoid Pruett and that is perfectly legal...other than the hype and BS that goes on off the track, I don't see a problem...NASCAR is an organization made of people...ya know, those really fallible beings...they are also totally privately owned and can do pretty much whatever they wanna do...whether you or I agree or not...I long ago quit watching any of the hype-TV that goes on before the race and yes, the announcers are not much more than pitchmen for NASCAR...but whatcha gonna do onna Sunday afternoon...watch bowling or golf or tennis or grass grow.......

Madjack [are yu angry or crazy, just curious!] what the hell you looking at , Pal? Montoya was no where near up to the point where Pruett could see him. Montoya is a very aggressive person and he will keep doing that sh......t until NASCAR or whoever steps on his act. Did you follow his stint in Champ car or his time in F1? This guy is just what NASCAR has been waiting for since big E bit the dust. Charming, totally ruthless! Easy sell to the faithful.

Opinion delivered with respect and in the spirit of contact sport. [I'm a Canadian that still plays hockey 3 times a week.]

Regards, JG :)

...I'm just plain crazy...you saw and formed your opinion and I saw and formed mine...lead...follow...or get the hell outta my way...Pruett knew M was faster and as his teamate should have just let 'em go on...besides, I have a very low opinion of Pruett anyway, after some of the antics I saw him pull in open wheel last year...

I studied the replay very close...
Montoya got on the brakes real hard, even smoked the tires, trying to keep from hitting Pruett... But it was too late to avoid contact.

...that is basically my point Dean...Pruett was taking the "high" line planning on diving down on the apex...Montoya was charging straight into the corner, relying on breaking at the end...that put M on the inside of Pruett...Pruett and his spotter should have both been aware that, that is what M was gonna do and did and as M's teamate and having the slower car he should have yeilded the spot and then blocked for M to the end...oh well, such is racing...no matter what you think, M had the faster car, P was his teammate and should not have been racing/blocking him that hard...

Dean, I agree that Nascar controls the races as they see fit. As far as I'm concerned Mark won that race. Yes I think that Nascar favors the Mega buck teams. There is definitely other drivers besides Montoya that deserve just as much notice as anyone. I also believe Pruett closed the door on Montoya on purpose . There wasn't anything Montoya could do .except what he did and he did try not to hit Pruett.
As with almost anything Money talks, but I still love Nascar racing, but not a big fan of the road courses. Stock cars were made to turn left. I'd like to see them run a couple dirt tracks. I think that would be a blast.
