Morning, yall. Recently ran onto your fabulous site, joined and now wish to present myself appropriately.

Shopping for my first TD. In fact, quit motorcycles on Saturday, so I'm poised for striking the first nice TD that comes up. And, kudos to all of yall; as there are some really neat units in your Hall of Fame.

Anyway, divorced dad of three TAMU Aggies (gig 'em); live in Central Texas just north of Waco. No longer a target on two wheels for truckers, teenagers, and the like; Mr. Safe in a campsite from now on.

Overlook the rambling; too much java this am.

Adios.

Welcome to the site! I stopped riding when my first daughter was born. No matter how safe you are on a bike, it's the people who look you straight in the face and then pull right out in front of you that inspired me to stop. I'll ride again, only when my kids graduate and move on. I'm sure you'll find some leads on a used TD. However, be prepared to strike quickly as I've never seen a good deal last more than a few days.

Good Luck!
Eric

Str8Jake,

Welcome to the forum and the obsession, from another Texan and former rider...an impact with a Jaguar sedan ended my riding back in '94.

Rode the 30 miles to work today on the Goldwing. 34 degrees in indiana it's gotta be spring ......
Yeah ! but nothing gets your little heart a racing like coming up to a county 2 way stop and deciding you better stop (even though you are on the thru road) like the charge of a silver mustang at gallop about to cross your path. How about communing with nature at 60 mph when the deer tries to either commit suicide or is out to bag another biker in retaliation for hunting season.
Ah yes the wind in your hair the bugs in your teeth and the obstacles in your path. Makes life a challenge !

Appreciate the welcome. I've had a number of downturns on two wheels of late, so I'm leaving that world; for now at least.

Looking forward to picking up a nice TD and making some weekend fun with my most recent ms. right/wrong/willing. Hate to lurk around too long and given the Cedar Hill weekend later this month, might have to do a drive by to see how yall act under pressure. I'm sure yall have plenty of lookers/lurkers on any given outing, but heck; I ain't all that skeer'd, likely as not I'll impose on some of yall for a quick look-around. By way of notice, if you have a spare, you might bring it; I'm mr. impulse buyer. Alas, I've given too much away already.

Promise to keep yall abreast of my shopping woes. Hmm, that said, guess I already have a quiz for you locals, does anyone know the folks down in Dripping Springs that was advertising their 4X10 for sale last month? Shot him a pm, but no response as of yet. Just one of many leads though, I love to shop like a widow woman at Round Top.
