2nd day and no progress

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

2nd day and no progress

Postby Airspeed » Mon Mar 19, 2007 10:13 pm

I started building yesterday, glued up a 5X10 floof, added 2' to the side panels, cut out profile and started laying the spars.
Today ended up on the couch taking with severe back pain.
Anyway here is what I've done so far.

:applause:  :woohoo: Lookin great Airspeed.

One of the things I learned about bending over my work is that the back didn't like it at all. If you lift one foot off the floor---like on a step stool or ladder---it will help take the strain off. Oh and stand up every few minutes too. ;)

Looking great. I like the profile.

That's great progress in a short amount of time and your work quality looks very good.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Very aerodynamic teardrop profile airspeed, looking good  . Judging from the quality of your speakers this is going to be one sweet looking tear :ok: . Stretch out the back every few hours, Image it should help, it works for me. :D Danny

Aaron, I like the profile too. One question though. How will your hatch be designed? You have a pretty tight radius at the back. Cool speakers too.

Aaron, just take it easy. If you mess up your back, you won't be able to camp. I had to take a break from building because of back pain also. What made it bad was that it was a forced break, I had the motivation but I couldn't work. That is opposed to the breaks where I was able but had no motivation.

I just realized a couple days ago that I only have this weekend to rebuild the doors in my galley. I broke one the day before LCG but never got arount to making new doors. Well, now I want to work on the trailer but I'm hopped up on Nyquil. Running a fever the whole nine. To make it worse, I was getting the trailer dolly out of the shed and coughed while I was twisted around. I think I pulled an ab muscle because it really hurts to cough, blow my nose, pee, sneeze, get out of bed, etc. Just like when you get a back ache but in the front.

Thanks guys!, I wish my back was stronger, I had a 700 lb roll of carpet slide down the stairs going to the third floor of my house and twisted my upper torso almost 180 degrees and destroyed my spine, lost sensation in both hands and my left leg plus a bunch of other nerve damage and constant pain, But I can still walk! (crooked)
Spinal injuries affect EVERYTHING, so dont take a strong back for granted, I used to do everything myself and now I'm old beyond my years for not asking for help with the heavy stuff. Take care of your back, you cant imagine how much your life can be affected by one stupid mistake
Thanks! Aaron
