Definately use Andrew's guide and be sure you are doing your calcs correct to get the loci points and have them on the correct axis. (Major I think)
A piece of plumb bob string worked fine for me, although keeping the correct tension on the string line when swinging the big rear elipse was a bit dicey.
After you get your arcs drawn, it might be a good idea to check them and fair them, if neccesay, with a batten and some small brads.
Cut out just proud of the line with a jig saw and belt sand them into shape, but use care that the edge is at a 90 degree angle to the surface when using the belt sander. I made a hand sanding jig to do fine touch ups here and there after using the belt sander...
BTW- That was for the template.... Once I had that, I used it as a router guide and a router to to trim my walls into shape.
