For the reasons I stated in the post, and for an easy project to do.

They work really well, they allow you to lift the lid straight up (reduce the chance of getting ashes in the food) and they also allow you to lift the lid and hold it sideways to dump the ashes off the lid.

Thanks Doug, I'm having fun with my welder but I almost have to invent things to make with it. I put it all away in a cabinet and then this little :lightbulb: comes on so I haul it out to play with it again. :lol: Had to buy a fire proof jacket... seems that I've acquired a few little holes in my sweatshirt when I was welding the hitch receiver to the chassis. I had to beat the fire out in a panic :roll: It's not fun welding in dark tight places, I can't see what I'm working on, but I'm still having fun. :lol: Danny
