We got home about 6. Took our time and had lunch at Palestine State park watching the train.
The darn grass grew a foot while I was gone. Got home with just enough daylight to cut it.
Had a fantastic time and it was good to see old friends and meet new ones.

  I WANNA GO BACK!!!  For our first trip w/the tear we learned some lessons, ate some great food and most importantly, made some new friends. You guys are the best! We felt so welcome and THANK GOD Charles & Linda were there. We'd be hopping from campsite to campsite trying to find one "where the electricity worked". Ahem, a 12 volt battery made all the difference in the world
I know Charles & Linda thought we were nuts!
We had a great time. Thanks Linda for all the legwork and paperwork involved.
We fished for a couple of hours, Collin caught a beautiful speckled trout and didn't leave BB until 6:30. got home at 8 and don't wanna go to work tomorrow, but somebody has to pay for all the things I want to buy the TD!

We got home around 9:00, swung by AR so that we can mark it off the list. Stopped an took a nap behind McDonalds in AR, then had dinner in Waco. I fell asleep on the recliner when we got home, this daytime schedule has me all out of whack. The car and trailer are unloaded but all the stuff is piled into the garage, I'll put in it's regular home (the shed) when it's daylight.

Getting home was uneventful compared to the trip up. There were several moments of sheer terror. Driving thru Waco, there were Jersey Walls on both sides of the road. When you hit a rain band while you are beside a semi truck there is zero visibility. A few times we were driving 25mph on the interstate, the rain was so bad. The driving rain found any possible place to enter the trailer so that the mattress can soak it up.

Right before we get off the interstate, one of the tires decided to not want to hold air anyomre. We had a blow out at 65MPH, pretty uneventful. At first I thought, "I hope it didn't mess up my fenders." I was relieved when I saw that it was the tire on the car. luckily we didn't bring too much junk so getting to the spare was easy. Of the 6 tires, I thought that one would be the last one to go. We had it checked out a couple days before because it had a slow leak.

When e got to the park, we couldn't find the group, of course we found them at the last loop we checked. Couldn't figure out the spots in the dark so we made about 5 circuits around the camping loop. By the time we decided on a spot, it started raining again. I was not a happy camper at that point. It all worked out in the end and we had some beautiful weather Sat afternoon and Sun.

We had a good time as well. Got home in 30 min less than it took us to get to BB. I unpacked tear, wiped out, and repacked for a trip in a couple of weeks. Didn't realize untill this AM how tired a trip can make you. I guess all that walking around and asking for money is what tired me out.
Well...anways we enjoyed the great food and visiting with old and new friends.
I hope everyone had a safe trip home.

Rocky, I'm not surprised you fell asleep in the recliner when you got home. All of that banana pudding should have given you enough energy to go for days.

For those that haven't seen he ate a pretty big serving. He had to eat Backwoodsman's share.

WOOOHOOO!!!!!! This weekend was a good start to the 07 camping year!!!! Who cares that it rained Friday night? No thunderboomers, didn't start till midnight and quit by morning and then the sun shone for us all weekend... even got kinda hot Sunday! You should have seen us, we took up almost that whole camp area!!!

It was SO great to see everybody again, and it was SO great to meet our newbies and I hope we have you at many more campouts! A great Happy Birthday to Jim (Hap) and we hope we made it a good one for ya!

I always learn something at every campout --- this time , to make sure the hitch is attached tight before you get down the highway 120 miles and have it come loose!!! And take a screwdriver and duck tape at all times!!!
hahahaha

Now ..... let's share some pictures!!!

I did a loop-t-loop coming out of Idabel. :)

Instead of turning left at the light for 259, I kept going, until thing started looking familiar. I had take 70 that loops back into Idabel.

At first I thought that I was in the Twlight Zone or at least a parallel universe experience because I saw the same bikers and scenery that I had seen earlier. However, as I approached the same intersection (to 70 or 259), it dawned on me that I was still in Galaxy Milky Way; I just needed to take a left

We did take the right left but I wasn't sure it was right and was afraid to tell Shayne because he'd stop the car and I'd be left! Does that sound right? :?

We had a great "first time" TD adventure. Most everyone ignored the fact that we had a motorhome right in the middle of the TD's. We did stop down the road and hook Jon's new TD onto the motorhome so it would look like it belonged. On Saturday he got his own spot and got to sleep in his new Yoder Toder for the first time.

The food and people, (not necessarily in that order), was wonderful! Everyone made us feel welcome and even tried to help us find a TD to use until ours is built. We missed some whose names we have become used to seeing on the forum. I am sorry we didn't get to meet everyone there, but hopefully we will at the next one.

Thanks also to everyone who has posted pictures!

What a really great weekend! Looking at the photos now I realize I didn't meet everyone, or take photos of all the trailers. Sorry. That's why we
have gatherings all summer long. To remember what you forgot the last time! Nice meeting everyone and hope to see all again. Here are
some pics of the weekend.

Rick, those were great pictures! I thought if we hid the motorhome between the TD and the MINI, it wouldn't be noticeable. (DUH). We sure enjoyed meeting you and Linda.
