Hello to all!

I have been reading, looking, admiring for about a month now and my wife finally believes I am serious about building a TD. I began tent camping in Boy Scouts, been camping in a popup for about 10 yrs, but love the size, shape, and simplicity of camping in a tear. The process of building a tear excites me. I look forward to getting know folks here and learning from them.

Happy to hear you are building. Have you chosen a design yet?

Have fun and thanks for putting up an avatar picture. Makes the board so much more friendly.

Welcome to the obsession. What part of Iowa are you from? My wife and I are going to try and make it to Pella to see the tulips this spring.

Radar,
Welcome to the fun. Look at lots of pics, and work out a plan. There are lots of ways to do a trailer and all that matters in the end is that you like it.

I really like the profile of Halfdome, Danny's, Sonetpro's Fish-inn, or even a Cabin Car. I also like Danny's interior! I like the wood work on Steve Fredericks trailers. Unforunately, I lack the skills of these gentlemen. I know I want to build on a 5x8 trailer. Wait, maybe 5x10... I don't kow what I want to do yet. That is why I came here. So I could see dozens of beautiful tears, hundreds of great ideas, and drive myself crazy trying to decide what I want to do.

Welcome to another Iowan Not many teardrops in this area.
Just got back from a 2200 mile trip to visit my daughter in Oklahoma. I hit the Beaver's Bend gathering while there and camped my way there and back. Spent 12 nites in my teardrop. Had a great time.
I am in the process of finishing my third tear now so if you need ideas and want to take a short road trip to Manchester you are welcome.
Also if you want to get camping soon rather than building your own we may be able to help.
