Has anyone done a storage fender?

I'm playing with this idea as I search for new fender options.

This just might answer the age-old question "Where do you put your shoes?"

If you look at the South Centrals Beaver Bend pictures there is one with a beautiful diamond plate storage over the fender thingy. Really nice.

Yeah, that is Woodyperk's... don't know if the pic is in his album or if he made them himself. He was camped next to me, very friendly guy and his kids and friends were too, and helpful!

I seem to remember hearing him say he bought them...

This is the storage unit on Woodyperks trailer. One on each side provide a lot of extra storage.

Will all that extra weight mean moving the axle farther back?

If you balanced the "saddlebags" left and right and front and back, the extra weight would be balanced over the axle. It shouldn't affect tongue weight or axle location. It could also serve as balast to balance your trailer and achieve the ideal tongue weight if you loaded them unevenly.

Wouldn't two of these make a complete fender? You could put a little mud flap under it. Or use just one and fake the rest. They're about 8" deep. You'd have to reverse the hinge. ~$200

You can buy those at any truck accessory store, they are made to go over the inside wheel wells in the bed. Very good Idea.

Looks like fornesto is one step ahead of me.
