Happy Easter To All

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Happy Easter Heikki to you and you family too. I Hope the Easter Bunny lay's and egg in your Teardrop.

BTW I think Rbeemer, is right. I personly cracked up laughing when I read Ira's reply. Maybe I souldn't encourage him, but... it was funny, and laughing is ALWAYS A Good Thing.

But apparently this Greeting was taken in different view and religious opinion.

How Sad..

I hope everyone will respect Heikki's wishes and exercise some discretion. Funny to some can be offensive or hurtful to others.

Happy Easter from the nutters - for some reason, Easter is when the British lose what little sense of reason they possess and they do things that defy explanation. Some highlights of Easter around my country:

- Egg rolling. Done in many places, this involves seeing who can roll their egg the furthest, usually down a hill.

- Egg yarping - tapping your hard-boiled egg against another competitors until one of them breaks. So much like conkers - do you play that one?

- The World Coal Carrying Championship is a race over a one mile course, carrying a hundredweight (112lb) bag of coal.

- My favourite is the 'Uppies and Downies' - a 'game' between the residents of the upper and lower ends of the town of Workington. About 100 players per side have to get a ball from the centre to one of two goals at opposite ends of the town. There are no rules. Next year they hope to celebrate 25 years without any player dying during the 'game'.....

My school went mad at the start of Lent, not Easter. On Shrove Tuesday (Greasy Tuesday, = Mardi Gras) the Greaze competition involved the school cook making a pancake, reinforced with horse-hair, and throwing it over a high tie-bar across the main school hall. On the other side waited about 20 boys and the one with the heaviest amount of the pancake one minute later won. Deaths were extremely rare, but hospitalisations weren't.

 I love it. Andrew we hide Easter eggs from the children. Inevitably some would not be found. :? We do have egg races in some places and egg tosses. These are done with uncooked eggs. So much messier. The British are completely civilized in this area.

My favorites are the easter eggs that I am sure not to find until July, and then "find" them with the lawn mower, which ensure that the joy is spread over the widest possible area  :?

Thats the reason I love the plastic kind.

If it weren't for us, he wouldn't have risen again--and you wouldn't have a religion and would ALL be Jewish.

As has been mentioned, it's the Romans who should get the blame. But then, the Roman Empire eventually converted to Christianity, so I guess they had to find somebody else to pin it on...
Then you would have to eat MATZOH, and believe me, it stinks.

Matzoh's not so bad - kind of a boring saltine. Now you wanna talk stink, how about that gefilte fish...

Hey, I apologize if ANYONE thought I was being hostile or abrasive with my post! I didn't mean it that way at all!

I simply have no sense of boundaries or proporion--never have, and it's always caused me problems!

If it enters my head, it comes out of my mouth. It's like I was born without a sensitivity spigot.

Happy Easter to all!!!

And thankfully, I convinced my wife that this year, no ham for us--Prime Rib instead.

40 BUCKS!!!
Here we go again!
