Two doors or one?

As I begin to flesh out my design I have always pictured a door on one side and a window on the opposite side. I see several here have units with a door on each side. Now I'm wondering. What do you have (or what are you currently building) and why did you choose to do it that way?

Unless you're camping by yourself, go with two doors. What if the person on the side with out a door has to use the bathroom in the middle of the night?

Unless you like getting crawled on or like crawling on someone go for two doors. Also remember you only have about 3 ½’ of height to crawl over them. And lastly for resale value, I wouldn’t even think of buying one with only one door.

Deffinitly two doors! Camping for two, no crawling over someone. Easier to make the bed. An escape route for a bear attack. Better ventilation if you open both doors when there arn't any bugs. I am building some drop in screen doors for those hot days.

Mines is big and if I could back up I would put the bed over the axles and add two doors up front. Windows in the doors.

2 doors, for all the reasons stated above...convenience, resale and a bear attack escape route..............

I like 2 doors because it also depends on the camp location, how I want the galley positioned and what door I want to use for more privacy, or to avoid prevailing wind/and god forbid rain.., as I just jump out in my shorts and pull on the pants, 2 doors just give more options...and if you haven't made a bed in one of these little things before...a 2nd door might just come in handy, in addition to the other reasons mentioned above...Doug

There was a thread a while back titled something along the lines of "If you were to do it again, what would you do differently." The ones who only installed 1 door put "install 2 doors" on the list.

I installed 2 doors right off the bat and never looked back.

I was thinking of only one door but then I came to my sences. The only reasons that I was thinking of one is because it would be easier to only cut one opening, make one door, seal one door. I'm glad I went with two. No regretts.

I met a teardropper that had one door. He told me a story how he had to jump out the window on the other side when a bear tried to get in the door side.

I camp alone and my teardrop is probably too small for two to sleep in anyway. I have two doors. Second door allows access to the potty/dressing tent. Last gathering, I couldn't stake the tent and had to tie it to the trailer to keep the wind from blowing it away. Once youv'e figured out how to make the first door, the second one is easier. Allows an emergency exit, more ventilation, and allows you to park facing another way. The poll also talked about windows. Got to have one that opens in each door. My trailer ony had a non-opening 15" square of plexi-glass in its one door when I got it. I also have a narrow window in the front. It's only 5" tall. It's nice to peek out of to see what's going on. Not worried about it getting broken as the glass can be replaced. If it ever gets broken by road rocks, I will install a flap to protect it. Doors and windows certainly make teardrops much less clostrophobic.
