New Guy from Utah

I have been lurking in the forums for a short time now. There seems to be a lot of really useful information and friendly folks willing to share their experiences.
I got interested in TD's recently after a trip with some friends to Tuweep Arizona. (Grand Canyon) 60 miles of dirt road, one way, to the campground and overlook. I towed a friends TD in and out. I really liked the galley he had set up.
I have often thought of a utility trailer to keep all of my camping stuff together and ready to go. This little TD seemed to fit the bill. I like the idea of it being ready to go and basically setup when I arrive at camp.
I am looking forward to future discussions in these forums.

Hi LowGear
Welcome to the forum. I too wanted something easy to hook up to the vehicle, easy to tow,and easy to set up. I started mine in Sept 05. Just working on it when I can. I am hoping to have it completed by October
for the Louisiana Cypress Gathering. I went in Oct 05, used a tent and had a great time. Hope you enjoy the forum and start a build . :)

Welcome LowGear! I'm another Utahn who also wanted an easy camp setup (just park and pull out the folding chairs!) We just got back from a trip to the Grand Canyon, too. We hit the South Rim and encountered way too many people. I think next time we go there we'll find a dirt road to explore. Dust and washboards seem to weed out a lot of tourists 8)

Tell us more about what you're thinking of building. We're a curious bunch here (in more ways than one  ) and especially love pictures! By the way, what part of Utah are you in? I'm in the Salt Lake area.

:o Oh Lowgear, you almost got by me. Welcome to the playground. I hope we can help with your dream teardrop. As Jeanette said "we love the pictures". Besides it keeps the bubble oil level. ;)

Enjoy

Hello. I am in Southern Idaho. I went to Tuweep in summer 2002 and had one of the 2 camp sites on the rim. What an amazing place to camp. Then I seen that National Geograhic ( or someone) published a book "100 places you must see" and one of the pics on the cover was taken within an easy stone throw of my camp.

Hey LowGear,

A bunch of us are meeting in Hanksville this weekend. If you've never seen tears up close, this is your opportunity. We'll be doing some Dutch Oven cooking too so it's a great excuse to show up to visit...and eat.

Joanne
