I found space for an extra shelf. My inclination is to leave it long for-well long stuff. But not sure if I should leave it in the galley or the cabin.

So campers---
Whatcha think. Or should I split it up.

Lower it a little more and then have it in the cabin. There is never enough shelf or cabinets in the cabin. :yes:

K---it is 12 inches high and 18" deep. It is only 23 inches off the counter now :shock:

Or you could make it accessible from both the galley and cabin. That would be a good place for the midnight snacks. Just add frame work and doors on the cabin side and your there. :thumbsup:

I would have to agree with Gage that would be the way to go the best of both worlds.

Thanks Gage. I'll try see what some doors look like. I guess if I have long stuff I can put it in from the galley. As for the snack idea---it is too tall. That shelf is about 44" off the floor. The counter is too short to make it. I guess we gonna hold our snack and eat crackers in bed.

The center counter open to the inside and out. The left open to the galley and the right open to the cabin.

Dear Miriam,

The long shelf would be a great choice. You can always m ake it compartments after you see how you guys use your tear.

If it was a little lower and opened to the inside you could bring my girlfriend with you!!!!!!!

Very nice I like the open concept between the galley and the cabin. I did that in mine also, For a TV and DVD. What's your plans for the opening?
Did you decide on what to do with the top shelf?
I still think I'd go open to both side with doors on both sides.

My dearest Guy. There is room for your girlfriend between the bed and the galley. Her favorite bed fits right there.

The shelves are screwed in and later when I am sure, I will glue a cleat in per advice from Doug. I did take the time to poly the undersides of the shelves. They will be way too messy to do when up.

I haven't decided if I want to dye the shelves so they are only finished where it doesn't show. :thinking:

I ended up with a little gap (~3") between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling that's open to the cabin. When you're in camp and the hatch is open, it really allows for some nice circulation and cools off the inside after a long day in the sun. It also allows me to keep an eye on Jr. when he's taking a nap inside without opening the door.

Wow. Thanks for the good idea. I think a screened off shelf might be really good. Have to see if I'm smart enough to do that.
