Just sayin' Hi from North Cackalacky

New guy here, just drooling over the awesome trailers I have seen on this forum. Gives me something to look forward to while on my 6 month deployment. Guess I will have plenty of time to look for, modify (if necessary) or design me a trailer on det. Will probably have many questions for you all, the experts, when I get back somewhere around October (I hope!). Just want to say thanks for whoever started this forum, as it is just what I was looking for to do with the family upon my homecoming. Thanks.

Well, I can tell you I am enlisted in the Marines as a Helo Mech and I am heading to somewhere in the Mid East. Wasn't exactly the kind of sand and sun kinda fun I was looking for!!! But that is the excitement I signed up for 14 years ago!!
Definatley looking forward to getting back and doing something like this for the whole family. Got the wife and 5, 11 and 17 y/o's to help me get rid of this darned computer addiction. Hopefully this will be the ticket. Thanks all.

JM, welcome to the fun. It will be a great family project!
I want to say thanks for 14 years of service. :applause:
I have a son in the Air Force, electrician on the B1 bomber, who is in the Mid East area right now until around August. He says its already hot over there and never been to a place where the sun is so bright.
Planning a trailer design should be a perfect use of your free time.

Hello Again

Postby jmeriwether » Wed Apr 25, 2007 9:26 pm

Well, to let you all know I have made it, not to the Mid East like I thought we would, but to Africa. And dang is it hot here, and goig to get MUCH hotter. Took a bit to get my internet up and running, but I am good now. Slow, but good. :frustrated: Now I can catch up on what I have missed in the past few weeks and try to find a simple, easy trailer design to start planning with. Thanks for the support you all!

the3beers, what ships were you on in 94 and 98? Were they either the Wasp or the Nassau? Or did you get the small decks? Just curious, because I was out during those years too.

Thanks all,
Jimmie

Jimmie, Glad to see you back online. Make sure you go through the Generic Benroy Plans in the top menu. Its a great place to start, and get a feel for the building process.

Thank you for your service to this great Country.

AAAARRR a MARINE!!!!!
Now we have 3Beers standing tall, if my experiance with the MARINE CORPS holds true pretty soon we'll be standing in line to get on the forums.

I had the HONOR of serving in the "GATOR NAVY" aboard the USS Denver LPD-9 1971-74.

I served with lots of MARINES, we stood in countless lines together. We stood in lines for chow, lines for stuff from the store, lines for haircuts (MARINES love haircuts), lines to get off the ship, lines to get on. I even think there were some of those MARINES who stood in lines just to stand in line.

Take care over there, and remember the old Loretta Lynne song "I never Promised you a Rose Garden".
Fix those whirly birds and get back to California and hopefully I'll have my T-Drop done and will cruise down and buy you a cold adult beverage.

God Speed you home,

in 94 i was on the USS Guam (decomed now i believe) and the USS Wasp in 98. There was a short 20 day training op with the USS Nassau in between there too. In 98 we actually did the last 2 days of the float on the USS Trenton.
