How low to go

Postby Airspeed » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:47 am

I got the body mounted and now Im considering lowering the trailer by making shorter shackles,my axle is on top of the leaf springs already,I may remove a leaf as well. I have plenty of clearance for suspension.
How low is the average body? I have 12" to the ground from the lowest point on the side panels .
Thanks Aaron

12" seems pretty darn low to me... but I wanted mine to sit higher so the galley cabinets would be a good working height, and getting in the cabin would require less "bending"... plus, I kinda wanted to keep the same line as the tow vehicle... I think much lower than 12" you might have problems going in to gas stations, etc. that have their little dips... just a thought.

Most T.V. only have 7 or 8 inches of ground clearence. Trucks would be higher.
