Sliders anyone

I have my sink in temporarily and realized I really should make it go in the cabin and the galley. I haven't been able to find a slider that will allow that.

Suggestions welcome!

What if you put sliders inside sliders? Mounted to slide in opposite direction.
If I was good at any of the drawing programs I post something. What I'm thinking is sliders mounted in the usual way. But, instead of screwing to your sink, screw it to another piece of wood and another set of sliders mounted the other direction and then screwed to your sink. Did I confuse you? I'm confused and it's my idea.

I guess if they don't make one that goes both ways I can do that. So your saying put two short sliders going in two directions (cut off in the middle).

I don't know if what we are using for a pull out/slider for our counter top would work for you or not.
My husband hasn't got ours to work perfectly yet, but the biggest thing is both sides need to be square so it doesn't bind & works better with some sort of lubricant.(Our trailer isn't perfectly square) Also if you're pulling your sink almost all the way out, there might not be enough support depending on the size of the counter compared to the sink.
The good part is that it would go both ways.
It is called a table support.

Thanks Martha, I will check around and see if I can find some table supports. What I have on there right now is a Medium weight, under (Euro) drawer slide. It will hold up to 75 pounds out that far. Over kill but I like the way it installs.

I used the same for the TV on the other side.

That's one of the reasons we are using the table supports, they were only $6.39 each, plus a lot of slides eat up space and we were trying to have the counter top as close to the wall as possible. But then they have there minuses as well. Some people use theses for a table on the side of the trailer for one edge & legs on the other edge.

Thanks Jim, Chris and Martha,
It seems I can't find a two way with full extension and to get the table all the way out on the cabin side I need to add 3 inches to the board, which I can't do because I had Lowes cut the sheet to 18" for the counters. The table support seems to be the only real option and I'd still need to recut the board. Backin up is what I do best.

Adding an extra like Jim suggested means cutting and finding a way to rejoin with rollers on both ends. Sounded good. Might still work.

Auntie M, What I'm suggesting is two sets of slides mounted to each other with a piece of wood (1 X 2?) in between for mounting purposes. As the sink slides out into the galley area the first set of slides (mounted normally) slide the sink, wood (that goes in between the tow sets of slides) and second set of slides out. The second set is mounted in the opposite direction so they are in their retracted position and do not move. The second set is also the set that actually mount to your sink. When the sink is pushed back the first set returns to the retracted position. From inside the second set would allow the sink to slide into the cabin. The first set do not move because they are mounted opposite and are back as far as they can go.
The computer I'm on now doesn't have a paint program (I thought all computers had Paint) or I would try to draw something.

Does that make any sense? Maybe I'll have to call you to explain.

Good morning Jim,
I think I finally understood. Logistically That might work. It will be a tight squeeze but I am going to try it.

Most brackets need 1/2" on each side for clearance. As you can see I barely have an inch to play with. Maybe turn the sink around and have it stick out into the galley when not in use.



This is the bracket that holds the sink. The long part is always under the cabinet. I need to see if I can get full extensions or cut a new board with an extra 3 inches on the other end. I will go to HD and get a 1/4 sheet today and try it.


Good ideas are worth pursuing. First I am going to hit the real hardware store and see if they have full extension slides. That will save getting a new board.

Must be lunch time in Florida.

Well I just go back home with an arm load of sliders. $2.21 ea. So I am gonna play with them till it works.

$15 dollars included 2 sets of 100# sliders for the cooler and stuff.
