Brick, I was't there either, I just finished my first 4 year tour with the Navy and was taking a break from the military. I went on to complete yet another 25 proud years both with the Navy and subsequently with the Army. The mid to late 60s and the military were something I'd rather forget. However, I will never forget my fellow brothers in arms who gave the ultimate sacrifice and they will live with me forever.

Brick
I was just out of high school when it was a footnote reported on the news.
I didn’t end up in Nam until 69 and then in the brown water navy.
That’s a grate song! :applause:

I wasn't there yet. I was in NavyAEA school in Jacksonville Fl. When I got my orders in December they said Lemoore Calif VA 155. Asked Chief where it was , he laughed and said middle of desert son . I thought a good place for the Navy. Four wks later on my way to Vietnam on board the Coral Sea . Our squadron lost seversl pilots over there. Made another cruise over their on the Constellation, more shot up planes more lost pilots. You never forget the sacrifice that our military personnel made wether right or wrong and will always be remembered. I was over there when the Uss forrestal and the USS Oriskany had there fires. Very bad deal at sea. :(

Pay it forward and the world would be a better place.
