Finally Graduated from College

"They" always told me, it's never too late. Well, I can proudly say that "they" were right. Last Saturday, I and about 400 other people graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University (online adult education ).

The courses are exactly the same as the (normal) younger kid's but these are with people more my age. I've been at this for 43 years (you do the math) but I finally got it done.

This last effort was three and a half years in the making and was a really enjoyable. The "on line" classes allowed for Teardropping and still getting my work turned in over the Internet.

It feels good to get my degree, but even better now that it's over.

Now I can really harp on the kids to finish.

More time for teardropping and other things.

No applause necessary; just send money so I can pay the tuition bills.

My degree is in Management. It's kinda' wierd since I've been a manager for about 30 years now. Most of my early college was in mechanical engineering and technology of various forms.
I really did it for me since (like Rob said) I plan to retire from my day job in January 2008.
I remember asking my boss, "what could be better; a new graduate with 41 years experience , or a new graduate with "0" experience.?

I got no immediate answer. Oh well, it's a good thing regardless.

Everything is about 10+ times more expensive since I started (except Coffee). That five bucks will buy a good Starbuck's, or 1.6 gallons of gas at today's prices.

Way to go from one who worked full time and did college part time to the end.
Retire as fast as you can and then do what you enjoy full time. If you can make a living at it, wonderful.
Remember you are not actually retired... you are a Consultant

Congratulations on a huge achievement. I don't know you, but I am proud of you for making the sacrifice and commitment. I also know that degree means a lot more to you than the degree a 22 year old earns.
