I Guess I'm Building A Teardrop !!!

Postby DBizer » Tue May 08, 2007 10:21 pm

OK, so there is a frame built in the driveway, a cardboard profile pattern folded up in the shop, and a whole lot of new bookmarks in my web browser. I guess I'm building one of these things.

First question--- Will my lawn look totally neglected the whole time I'm building this thing?

Will begin posting pics soon!

David, welcome to the asylum! You've already started so it's wayyyy too late to turn back.

Lawn? What lawn? That green stuff is just a nice spot to lay out your plywood so it won't get all scratched up....

David....yes, your lawn will look neglected, and your living room may fill up with parts as well as the porch, depending on your relationship with your significant other. My dog doesn't squawk as she enjoys the camping trips, but as soon as Minden is over, all will be well with the world...maybe I'll fold the laundry... welcome aboard and have some fun.... Doug

Well David the 12 step program doesn't work so dig out the camera. Pictures and making sawdust help some. There is no cure! We do run the occasional contest to encourage members to fess up and clean up (or make a mess) as needed.

Enjoy

Welcome David...

Lawn? What lawn...
Down here, in Sunny Flada, they outlawed lawns a few years back! :o
(Dang watering restrictions)
Might as well just cement it and paint it green?

Fortunately, the environmental whacko's came to our rescue with a new word: "Zerascaping"
Now we can "utilize native plants" and let the whole darn mess go back to weeds. ;)

More time to build fun stuff like teardrops.

Just plant some buffalo grass, it kinda looks wild anyway. Plus it doesn't need much water so you won't have to water it.

Welcome to the forum. If you need any local (kinda) suppliers, just PM me and I'll tell you where I found it.

Good luck!

Spread your plywood out over your lawn. Move it from time to time. It'll kill the grass :) :)

Nahh, You won't ever use up all the plywood. There's build 2,3,4,5 etc. Always be plywood to lay on the lawn. :applause: :applause:

Hate that lawn work. I live in a subdivision and am just waiting for that nasty little letter from the POA. I"m outa this place as soon as I retire (13 months, 3 weeks, 4 days -but whose counting). Can anybody say "For Sale"?
