Hello. After many years of thinking, reading about teardrops I started cutting iron for mine April 29th. Found this forum the next day. The frame is mostly donated iron from a wheel line sprinkler mover. The axle is from a VW Rabbit pickup, Also a freebe. I am not widening the axle as I want it to track the tow vehical (Mazda 4x4 Pickup) as i do have a habit of going where no road graders go. I am not building a full 4x4 like those folks. They are crazy and I have a couple of years before I join them. Just building it for the rougher roads. I have the frame mostly tacked up, last major task is setting the rear spring hangers. Found the material for that in the junk pile just as I quit work on it yesterday. Cabin will be 8 foot long. Don't know if I will stop at 4 foot wide or go for 5 foot. Will try to get some pictures later this week. Hope to have it on its wheels my next weekend so I can drag it about the local roads to see how bad it tows to one side.

Hey Wolffarmer,

Welcome to the forum. Things happen like that. You find the information AFTER you need it.

But you have a whole build in front of you. So we might still have a "little" info for you!!! ;)
