Good luck with your build, Bob! Make sure you visit http://www.southernpaddler.com. That place is to pirogues what this place is to teardrops...chock-fulla info and helpful people. 
Built Uncle John's folding wood chair, and youbetcha it makes all the difference in the world. Surprisingly comfortable for a non-padded chair.
Btw, also included a pic of the rig at Reelfoot Lake State Park in extreme northwest TN. Great place to paddle. And fish...place is a fisherman's mecca. Will try to post some pics under a new thread in general or maybe here.
