Little E Leaving DEI...

Whoa!!! :o

I think he'd look real cool in a black #3 Budweiser car next season... 8)
But he's been saying some real nice things about the Hendrick camp lately...
I wonder if he's gonna take over Casey Mears' ride???

He's probably the only one who could drive the #3. He could end up with Smoke too. Gibbs only has 3 cars.

He and Smoke are good buds, they sure draft well together...

Just the thought of him in the 3 car leaves me in awe at what that would do to his fan base... :o

Childress really turned that program around this year. Earnhart, Harvick and Burton would be a good team.

Like I say... He's really been throwin' some good plugs Hendrick's way about how far ahead they are on the COT program... They've won every COT race so far this year...
Richard is a sly 'ol fox... I'm sure he's let Jr. know what it would do to the fan base and I'm sure Bud would go along with doing a black car...
But Hey... He could also just start his own Cup program too...

Hey Dean, where did you hear that Jr. was going to drive a #3. Did he also buy that number from Richard Childress or is it just wishful thinking?

It's only speculation right now about the 3 car...
He did announce today in a press conference that he will be parting ways with DEI at the end of the season. No mention of him buying the car number from Childress, but the press did point out that NASCAR can at anytime, if it so chooses, take a number from a team and do what they want with it... I didn't know that one.
I think Jrs. choices boil down to three possibilities...
1. Drive for a first tier team... Hendrick/Childress/Gibbs
2. Drive for a second tier team... Anybody's guess
3. Form his own cup team

Whoever he drives for or whatever he does, I do beleive he'll stick with Chevrolet...

I read a press release that Theresa made... Kept everything upbeat and positive about DEI and it's future... But I could not help to think that the future had just walked out the front door...
I'd be surprised if his crew chief stayed with DEI and not go with Jr... They're cousins...

I watched most of the press conference this morning. He did say he wanted to stick with Chevy. He also said he really doesn't want to run cup with JRM (his team). He would like to run some Busch races with his own team. Hendrick would have to get rid of a driver to take Jr. on. I wonder if somebody at Hendrick is nervous? I still think the obvious choice would be Childress. But, who knows?

Hold the phone...
Just read this on Jayski's site...

Dale Jr. to RCR? done deal? FOX25(Boston's FOX affiliate) is reporting.......Dale Earnhardt Jr. will soon be racing under the same legendary #3 Chevy that his dad used to race in. A source with direct knowledge of negotiations tells FOX25 that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has finalized a deal with Richard Childress Racing Thursday night and an official announcement will be coming soon. At a press conference today to announce that he was leaving the company his late dad built, Dale Jr. said he would have mixed emotions about driving his dad's #3 Chevy, but again, FOX25 has learned that this is a done deal.(FOX25)(5-10-2007)

Odds are, if Jayski posted this... It's gonna happen.

Budweiser also announced today that they are sticking with Jr at least through 2008....

Childress denied the rumors on Sirius this morning and asked the media to give Dale some breathing room and due diligence.

Jr. said yesterday in his press conference that he wouldn't be comfortable in the 3 because his dad made the # what it is.

After it all shakes out, I'm sure he'll make the best decision for him and his goals.

I think if he goes to RCR it won't be in the 3 car but another number. I know RCR is also adding a 4th car just like Joe Gibbs.

Childress would be a logical choice, and Gibbs would be a good fit...I just hope he doesn't goto hell at Hendrick ;) ...look for a Red Budweiser #33 next year at Childress...so sez the great and powerful KARNAK :R

Lets hope he doesn't start his own team.
Don't want to follow in Waltrip's footsteps, and for him to drag Jarett in to it as well.
