It does seem that it will be Canada and Finland tomorrow.

Score is 4-1 Canada - Sweden.
That will be exciting to say the least.

I'll definitely be cheering for Finland against the Russians. So maybe you can cheer for Canada versus Sweden? The game is 4:00 am local time but a hockey fan must do what he must do!

Would love to see Canada and Finland in the final.

Regards, JG

Although I am happy that Canada won it is too bad that Sweden did not have their best players available since most of their better players were in the NHL playoffs. I guess that is the case for nearly all the teams in the tournament. Certainly Sammi Salo would be there for Finland if the Canucks had not made the playoffs. And of course Markus Naslund and the Sedin twins for Sweden.

So tomorrow I will cheer for a Canada win but a close exciting game. Maybe it is Finlands turn since you have not won since the mid '90's if my memory still serves.

BTW Canada will host the tournament next year but I guess I will not see any games as it will be held 5000 kms away in Halifax and Quebec City :)

I have changed my Avatar to better celebrate the Canadian win, my season was over at the end of March! Although seniors hockey isn't quite the same thing. LOL

Good Photo JG. We won it in 1995 and boy I remember the event very well. I think I had a headache for a week..   plus Finland was at a total stand still for days after. But weve had Silver Medal winnings after then. So close and yet so far.

As you said many of our NHL players are missing as well. Saku Koivu, Teemu Selänne .. Salo. and many more..

Canada has a few of our best players as well.

Again Congratulations JG and we,ll touch base before the game tomorrow.

All our Best from Finland..

PS Id bet you wont know who I,ll be rootn and tootn for .. :QM

Finn,

I think I'll be cheering for the Canadians in this game. Jonathon Toews, as of now, is a member of the Iniversity of North Dakota team. I'm sure he will probably be turning pro rather than returning to UND. He would be in his 3rd year at the U.

I see he scored a goal against the Swedes.

Best of Luck and may the best team win!!! I'm sure it will be exciting.

Good morning hockey fans and Mothers everywhere.

2nd intermission of the bronze medal game, looks like the Russians are going to win that one.

I have some good news/bad news: since it is Mothers day and I have 6 mothers that are close to me emotionally and geographically, watching the gold medal game between Finland and Canada will not be possible. If I want to properly honor all 6 I have to start early and keep at it all day. Life can get complicated as time and relationships go by.

So, Finn, and every other hockey fan, enjoy the game!

Regards, JG
