Image WaaWho, I found my cooling problem in the '59 wagon. It's now fixed after spending money on things I really didn't need but will still help the cause. But it's still not going all the way back to Pennsylvania next month.

I can't tell ya. It's to damn dumb and should have been the first thing I spoted. But at least I now have a 4 core radiator and a custom fan shroud which sure won't hurt anything but my back pocket. $>

Thermostat in backwards/plugged up?
Wrong pressure cap on the radiator?

I like the Gage guessing games. Was it any of the following?

a. Improper timing or a malfunctioning distributor.

b. Bad vacuum advance

c. maybe it really wasn't overheating. The temp gauge sender unit was bad

Many times it's just the radiator cap.

I'm guessing a hose and/or hose clamp.

I think the cooling problems comes from the fact he lives in the desert!

I know - I know

Ya had the vacuum advance connected into the manifold vacuum instead of the carburetor venturi port, didn't you?

it appears that it might work better if the fanbelt was in the pulley...
