The Puffin now has a table. WooHoo! I'm going camping at Lake Somerville this weekend. I know it will come in handy. :D

I just set my trailer jack on the bathroom scale and got my tongue weight at 141.5.

That's with the camper loaded, but without the 50 pound trike hanging off the back.

Miriam C. - Thanks. I hope it works well.

NightCap - Hey stranger. How's your build progressing?

Micro469 - Explaining the burgers was easy - one for lunch and one for dinner. It was more difficult to explain the bra that made it back with me. :o

My build is all done except for some of the finishing touches. Some trim and painting etc. I have to admit that your puffin is gnarly. Love it. Going to make another any time soon?

I just got back from Lake Somerville and had a great time. I really like the fact that with my AC running, fan going, and dark curtains I can sleep 10 - 11 hours even with the neighbor camper's kids running and yelling. It's all gravy...

The table worked well too. It quickly became a "let's see how much crap I can stack on here" table.

NightCap - Thanks, I'm really diggin' it. I have no plans to build another camper. I'll keep updating/upgrading this one. I'm going to paint it again (glass it and paint it with marine paint) and apply some groovy decals. This one seems to be just what I need. I love the stand up room, bathroom, and being able to step inside with shoes. The AC and storage fit all of my needs. I also like that it's tall enough that I can use a canopy. It's all the camper I need.

You got a picture of that? On second thought, never mind.

Mike...

That sounds like a good deal then. I'm glad that you made a good one. I love my tear, but am fantasizing about having a self contained TTT also. I will however continue to add to my tear as well. I still need to make side tables. I will need to make a canopy for me to rest my tired butt under. I am thinking of using some of my kite fabric for that. Hope we can meet in some campground somewhere to compare notes.

Another trip to Lake Somerville this weekend. The weather was fantastic. It was nice and dry - not that common for this part of Texas.

I had a co-worker run out for the day and we had a good time. I think she's hooked on camping now.

I had two people stop by to check out the camper. One couple asked me to build them one, and actually offered to put money down as a deposit. I kindly told them no, but I'd put the plans online. I'm going to register a site name and place all the info online. No charge - I'm hoping someone else will be inspired to build their own.

Also, I did 10 miles of riding on the trike this weekend (sweet dorked-out tan lines now) and over 20 miles on the mountain bike riding at night. I think the plan is to read/nap during the day, and start my trail riding at night. I've got a new Blackburn light setup and I love it! I rode about 5 miles on the trail, got off the bike and turned the light off to be surrounded by stars. It was a surreal moment having all of that trail to myself. I almost ran over an armadillo, but I managed to swerve at the last minute to avoid it on the bike. 30 miles on bikes on Saturday, and 12 on Friday night.
