change to arrival date

Postby cleave » Sat Jun 02, 2007 9:51 am

We've decided to arrive a day earlier so we'll be there Thurs-Mon. Actually, I have to drive April to the airport in Burlington on Sunday morning because she has to fly out to Idaho to judge the US National Fiddle Championships. She gets to work and I get to camp longer! :R I'm not sure which route will be the fastest to get to Burlington from FCP. drive around the lake? or ferry across? I'll have to check it out.

Later.

As Bill says... just bring whatever you're good at. Pot luck is pretty informal. We'll eat about anything!

Good to hear you'll be arriving early Mark. Kate and I will also be leaving early, and arriving early on Thursday instead of Friday.

As far as Burlington goes, I suggest the ferry. Personally I prefer the south ferry which is shorter. The Burlington ferry is about an hour across. Either way you can't go wrong.

I know this is a probably a little vacation for you two... but we won't mind if April wants to play a bit after the pot luck, like her surprise performance last year on the Sunday with was really special. That was one of the hilites of last years TearUp aloing with the venison... (mouth watering here).

Should be a fun time!

Just got back from Watkins Glen Tear Jerkers gathering and a great time was had by all! But now it's time to turn our sites to the Tear-Up!!!  Marc- bring all the venison you want, I can sit there and eat it like Halloween candy!
Diane and I should be leaving early Fri. morning as soon as we drop the dogs off at the boarders. Now I have to decide whether to bring the FanDrop or the Metz.

Great!

Can you explain what Steve is doing in this shot? Is he trying to thumb a ride the wrong way? http://tnttt.com/album_ ... c_id=22137

Looks like a very scenic park! Maybe we can make it down there next year... if motherships are allowed LOL

And what about this shot... you have a toe dryer in the Fandrop!? Spoiled you are! http://tnttt.com/album_ ... c_id=22119

Anyways after looking at the completed photos of the Fandrop (hadn't seen the latest bunch), you HAVE to bring the Fandrop... alternatively, bring both :applause: . Looks like a real piece of art! Do might just have to start up 'Fandrop Co'!

Postby campadk » Mon Jun 04, 2007 5:12 pm

Weathduh in ADK land is always changing... anyways the forecast in the last few hours just changed again.. looking pretty good for pre-tearup camping! Hopefully that doesn't mean the rain is holding out till our weekend! :o

Kate and I will spend either Wed and Thurs night at FCP this week (trying to convince her) before heading over to Lake Placid for the week.

Dear Dave-

(This is Diane)....

(Answer to your 1st photo question)- Steve was taking a photo of something on the hill, I think......not sure what though.

(As for the toe-fan)....I'm shocked! You didn't recognize my "Duck-toes"! Remember? Rick's feet aren't as 'pretty'. :-)

We missed you & Kathy this past weekend! It's well worth the drive to go camping there... (minus the plague of the worms & worm poop EVERYWHERE!) Other than that, it was a great trip.

I did ask Rick to please make sure the bed is made with cotton sheets, verses the flannel sheets & fleece blanket we had in there this past weekend. (Hence the fans). Yeah in 80*+ heat, wilth 210% humidity, it wasn't the best of choices to make. :-) Oh, and we're getting a new mattress topper too. The futon mattress we have in the FanDrop now is like sleeping on hard lumpy ground. Nothing that a trip to the chiropractor can't cure.

We had a wonderful time, and met some really nice people. Steve & Phyllis's Rondack's Lodge is 'rolling art'. It's absolutely gorgeous!!!

We're looking forward to the Tear Up in a couple of weeks. I have my 'project' ready, and I think it's going to be a hit (if it works, that is).
See you soon. Can't wait so see The Mother Ship up close & personal!

-Di

Wow! Checked out latest photos of Steve's finished Rondack Lodge.. amazing!

Well folks the weather is looking promising so far and we now have 24 trailers and <gulp> 50 campers!

FCP will definately be hopping this year!

Now who has a large enough site to hold 50 people and a whole lotta food!... :o

No worry these are pretty big sites!

Dave, it looks certain that my wife , Jeanie, will be joining me at Fish Creek. Still a possible excursion to Shelburne, VT.

After my son's wedding (June 9), we'll need a break. First I have to get her off the ceiling and then she can enjoy some down time (teardrop time).

The "Motel 4-2" will be ready to roll to Pittsburgh on Thursday, followed by the wedding / reception and then on to NYS for arrival in FCP by Monday afternoon. :applause:  Image

Great Kurt! Glad she will be able to make it. Sounds like a whirlwind of a vacation 8)

Be sure to save us all some wedding cake if you have leftovers

And of course we don't mind any newlyweds attending!

Dave- isn't there a pavilion at FCP that we can use for the pot-luck? 50 people seems like an awful lot of campers to sqeeze onto one site. Just the food alone is going to take up 3 or 4 picnic tables!!

Pavillion? You mean the amphitheatre? Actually that would hold about 20 people maybe... and we'd have to carry our 'goods' about 1.5 miles around the ponds to get there... :o

The sites were we are located are quite large... we can just pick a central location where someones tear and tents aren't hoggin all the space.

We'll have to watch the weather too.. just in case and plan accordingly. Guess we have been lucky in past years.

Does anyone have one of those big portable long tents just in case?

Hey, If the weather is bad, we could always line up the cars like the kids do at Burger King (side by side with the windows down) and have a party inside the cars. ...........................

No.........

Never mind, I'm only kidding  .
