I have never used a dutch oven for cooking, and now just starting to familiarize myself with some of the iron. The first name that came to mind was "Lodge". It seems that there are new lid designs in the line up. I have seen others place the charcoal on the top of the lid while cooking. The new Lodge lids, do not have the lip, or rim around the top anymore.
Is this new design a step backward for Lodge's traditional designs? What other popular DO brands are recommended?
