How'd you like to wake up to this in your TD?

This little critter was in my garage, where I keep the TD. I have the TD closed up tight, now. Waking up with this crawling on my chest would cause sudden and imeasurable stress.

This photo shows it pretty close to actual size -- about four inches tip-to-tip on the legs.

I've been here seven years, and theis is the forth one -- but first one inside. Usually I find them in the garden.

They are not dangerous, just creepy.

I've seen em on tv. Aren't they fairly friendly? Of course the heart attack wouldn't have done me any good.

Not only would I wake up with stress, I'm afraid I would wake up with a MESS!!!

aww..yes...we have bunches of those in our part of Texas too. At times you can watch them cross a road by the hundreds maybe even thousands. They are nothing to worry about though.

it's just a little ol' tarantula, wouldn't hurt a fly, well, maybe it would hurt a fly, unless it was a rather large fly..ya know?

Yeah. It's one of those things, though, that even though I know it isn't dangerous, I don't want to pick one up and play with it.

I don't kill them, but I don't want it for a pet, either. I catch them, and release them in the open fields north of me.

Some people do make pet's of them. I should sell them.

Boy if my wife saw one those I would never hear the end of it, bad enough with the tiny one we get around here.

Just place a paper bag over it. It will crawl up inside and you can relocate it some where that it will be safe. I use to kindly play with them when I was a kid. Danny

I haven't seen one of those around here. The ones we get are brown with stripes on the back. I was told that when you see them, it means that it will rain in a day or two.
