Question for those in Missouri

Postby T-TownTear » Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:04 pm

Does anyone know if the drive through animal safari place near Springfield is closed or not.
I was told today that it was. I really hope not, my daughter was REAAAALLLLY wanting to go see it.

Sorry but I just asked a local Springfield resident and he said that he was sure that it was sold and they have even sold the animals. My kids enjoyed that to so it's to bad that it is closed.

Can't say for sure--I heard earlier this year it was closing. Beyond that though, we took our then 4- or 5-year-old a few years ago. He enjoyed it immensely but from an adult perspective it was pretty disappointing. After you've seen the first 100 tame whitetail deer you've seen 'em all if you know what I mean. Some interesting animals that you don't see in the normal zoo such as Highland cattle. But you drive a long ways at low speeds to them. And halfway through they offer you the orportunity to buy more feed pellets. That's their real moneymaker--getting you to pay them money to feed their animals (and plenty "wild" animals) after you've already paid an entrance fee. Don't mean to sound negative. As I said the kid loved it and from that perspective it was worth the money. However, forewarned is forearmed.

Best,
Tom

I just drove past it yesterday. I even stoped across the road from it. Could not tell if it was open or not. Still had all the signs up. I did hear a while back he was selling all the animals. The owner was trying to buy a piece of land here at Lake of the Ozarks for develpment. It did not go thru. Not sure of current statis of the park.

Exotic Animal Paradise/Animal Paradise Family Fun Park

Postby pbbelly » Fri Jun 29, 2007 11:38 am

It recently closed, they had an auction and sold all of the critters, then someone else bought the property (and maybe most of the animals?) and reopened it under a new name. Visit http://www.goanimalparadise.com/

Thanks!

It's nice to know that there are other TTTs/teardrops in this neck of the woods.

There's been some talk about a central MO get-together some time this fall. Maybe it'll come together?
