I had a 1x3 that ran across to roof to support the middle of the roof. It ties in the front bathroom to the rear storage areas over the bed. It's to keep the roof from sagging. Well, I had a router, so I began playing with and made some crazy oval design in it and epoxied it in place. This was many months back. I've never liked it, so I epoxied two 1/4" pieces of wood to the edges to seal it off. This will give it more strength, but more importantly it will cover up the holes which I didn't like.
Oh, and cupholders! I need folding cupholders!

I sorta liked the holes. I remember thinking I could put some hangers in them. Hang up my coat and such.

I was hoping you would ahve a site up soon with step by step instructions and tutorials. But this thread will have to do. I was wondering if you could help me with a design? Shoot me a private email

Yes, looking at Steve's Puffin has inspired me to build a similar TTT. Just hope i can do half as good as he has. I was already thinking about a dinette type table/bed just a few days before he said he was going that route lol Hope i'm not too much of a copycat

Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer, did some work for a friend awhile back and he gave it to me as payment. I'm going a little wider than the Puffin, don't remember the exact width right now... some thing like 6'4" i think. got the walls and a partial roof done. I went with a 24" radius front and rear, instead of the 36" in the rear like Steve's (gonna try to squeeze a bunk in above the lower bed). I'm kinda at a standstill till i buy some replacement woodworking tools (3 days after i started onthe TTT, someone broke into my buildings and stole most of my woodworking tools... over 3 grand worth)

Postby Jeeper92 » Mon Jun 18, 2007 6:01 am

about the tools, Yeah im going to go as wide as my garage will allow and also going to try and get a bunnk above the "master" bed, Im also going to go with a rear entry. How big should the doors be? Im not sure about the bathroom yet, it will have a kitchen in it, Im thinking maybe just a scloset with a shitter thrown in

Jeeper92 - I will have some plans available online when I finish them. I'll also have pictures and CAD drawings to help with the builds. I plan to have it up before the end of summer.

Novanut - I got my windows from Grant and Lil' Bear. http://www.teardrops.net/LilBear/parts4.html#windows Make sure to keep us updated on your build progress. Good luck with it.

NightCap - Funny you should mention the coat hanger holes - many people thought the same thing when they saw it.

I pulled the Puffin out of the garage into the sun today to let the paint cure and the silicones dry.

Here's the pictures - I'm really happy with it. I have a little bit of paint creep on the rubber edging that I'll have to remove, and I haven't finished the back (I pulled the trike rack off and epoxied the holes), but I think it looks better now.

I'm going to bend the bottom skirting of the camper (the 10" that sticks below the door that hides the frame) into the camper. This will curve the bottom of the camper in, like my SUV. I will then trim the wheelwell with aluminum. I had to cut the wheelwell to be able to get the wheel off with the curve. I'm also going to get a red pinstripe on the white wheel to tie it in with the camper.

The red stripe really speaks to me. Wow. Nice. It turned out great. You do realize that you need a red stripe on the car now? Boy, what a tangled web you weave.
