I have a great deal of respect for ALL of the men and women who place their lives on the line for whatever reason (firefighters, law enforcement, military, etc) The loss of those 9 firefighters in SC is a tragedy. Last week, a KY police chief was shot in the back of the head by a guy he picked up for a DUI. It's a strange world we live in. My grandfather was killed in the line of duty as well, he and his deputy were attempting to arrest several men on a drunk and disorderly, my grandfather and his deputy were both killed before they could ever draw their weapons.
