I also have a crate. Bringing Lucy is yet to be determined. This is MY vacation, not hers  We'll see how she progresses.

I agree Keith. Not sure if my JRT (Ranger) is ready to attend a gathering, and want to make sure it is a good break for us not just him.

Yeah, I hear ya on the "barking" thing; thats why I didn't take my pup to ITG... she'll have to get much better before I take her where there's a crowd... look forward to seeing ya there.

Pam,
Last year it was perfect weather. Not like Colorado but very pleasant. 75 during the day and cool evening's. I think it got down to the 40's.
Come on over. after meeting you at ITG you would fit right in.

Pam, like SteveT said, it was very nice. Now that I think about it, it was pretty much the same weather as it was in Minden this year. It rained like crazy and then cleared up and was sunny and nice. I didn't bring an AC unit but instead brought a ceramic heater. Here's some pictures from last year...... these were taken in the morning from TonyJ's dock

I'm really envious of you all going down there to celebrate the "Mad One's" birthday...and for those of you that are worried about bringing your pups...they aren't going to get used to it any earlier...I can't imagine going camping without Daisy...and remember...Keith doesn't bring his own TP so take some along for him!!! Doug

Yeah, Pam !!!! Come join the fun !!!

I remember one night it got to 39* , I slept without a heater but was fine.
The campfires were well needed and nice and cozy.... the days were perfect --- not too cool , but not hot at all. I wore jeans during the day and didn't get hot at all.
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Pam, what makes you think there are bugs in Louisiana?

I did not get to make the gathering last year and I won't get to make it this year either. But looking at the pics above makes one wonder about those gaters.

I'm sure madjack will have a serious talk with them before you arrive.

You guys have fun..........

 Some Southern rules. Never play in the pretty moss. It does not make a good fort. (red bugs aka chiggers) Skeeters don't like deet unless I have it on. Gaters think leather boots are food so some good climbing shoes work best. 8) Got that Keith

Seriously I have never seen a live, not captive gater and I was raised in Fla. Cotton Mouths are different. They will not run away so trying to get them outta the fishing spot doesn't work. Easier to move.

Don't have to worry about feeding the gators--looks like there will be plenty of yapping dogs we can feed 'em. (Be quiet Jake, be v-e-r-y quiet. And don't bark at that man taking pictures off our dock. I'll let you eat him later.) Oops! Did I print that out loud?
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
