Pam, I lived in Austin Texas for 18 years and I learned that all you gotta do is saturate your self in Deep Woods Off and spray one of those Yard Sprays for your camp area, and maybe a citronella candle or 8 will keep most of the bugs away! Not to worry!!!

If you get the campground next to Paul and I, Binx promises to keep the gators away!!!

"Has anybody seens binx? Here's his leash??? Oh GOD!"

NAAAAAH.. I won't let anything happen to my little Binxy!!!

SO...Please bring the Cherry Drop and If you want...Paul and I will wait for you to come through our neck of the woods and convoy with you!!! Travel as a pack as it were!

IC this gathering will have the who's who of the forum when the MadOne
celebrates his Cajun birthday.

The bayou will be rocking for sure with all you people in a party mood.

I have a question that I am throwing out to all in the South Central area.

As a thought that seems to have stumped the stars of this event,

Does he belong to the forum, if so what is his handleImage

...snakes and bugs and gators...OH MY    while Louisiana is known to have every kind of creepy crawly that is know to exist in the US, it will be late fall and the snakes should be hibernating, as will most of the bugs...and the gators will be "sluggish"...iff'n a gator tries to crawl into bed with ya, just whack ''im on the nose and tell 'im to go on...besides...you do have two doors on your tear...doancha :D ;)

Don't it just go to show you that the MadOne seems to have the Grizzly
Adams stance about how he wrangles critters in his territory. He sure gives
the impression that all animals can be tamed with whack on the nose and the right attitude.

Tough guy of the bayou = The MadOne Image

All those timid about the bayou critters should splice the main brace with
The MadOne upon getting to the gathering just to get their attitude on right.

Hey Steve, I have found, that handing out an "enthusiastic" whack on the nose can give ya effective control of most situations...if not, see the last line in my signature box... :D  ;)

Come on down Pam, it'd be great to have you there! Last year it was mild, I didn't use the a/c at all.

Hi all, We have never attended a T&TTT event before, but this one looks like a good place to start. One question- are these events in general family friendly? We have a 6 year old as a camping companion. I hope to have my TTT at least 90% outside- 50% inside before the end of Oct. I am going to go ahead and reserve a spot. Maybe that will be the push I need to get this TTT done.

Milo. there are usually a smatering of kids at any gathering...while a few adult beverages may be consumed, it is generally pretty lowkey...I don't think you have any worries about bringing the little one...so comeon down and join in the fun........

Humph... it would appear that a lot of folks wanna go camping in an indoor environment. Heck, I'm down in spot #18 (right in front of the gator's back door) so I don't think I'll be taking any midnight walks! But Keith... you're right next door (and closer to the "gator's spot") so I'll make sure we have a secure perimeter... M18A1 Claymores work great on gators... besides, if he gets curious (or hungry) and shows up... we could just skin him out and add some meat to the bar-b-que.

Apart from that, I expect to bring the Force Protection Canine (FPC)... all 8.5 pounds of Yorkie Holy Terror... he's a Middle-East trained, snake hunter-killer with built-in distant early warning and homing device. As for the bugs... sometimes you just gotta say "What The Hell" and live it... bring the repellant and "area stink-em-out stuff" and it'll be fine. This gathering is going to be first-rate and one hellova good time, so all you folks that are still thinking about it... reserve a spot and come on.... I lived in Louisiana for a few years... and it wasn't difficult at all; learning to water ski got a little sporting, but you learn real fast how to jig & jog!

Yeah MJ... I know that now... but I was pretty young then so those Cajun gentlemen thought I needed some hands-on learnin' about being a "troll-ee. It's not a big deal... gators usually don't swim as fast as an I/O SeaRay! ;)

They got those pesky critters down in Florida too, that's where I developed my slice to keep from putting the ball near the course ponds. I noted your La. CHL doesn't restrict state parks on their website. Hmmmm!

Anyway... folks from Colorado and Kansas shouldn't be nervous in Louisiana... ya just gotta keep puttin the logs on the campfire.
