Peggy......Yes I am moving right along.

Day 7 I was moving right along but now I am stuck. I had to order 1/4 inch baltic birch. It was supposed to be here today but no luck. I hope it arrives here by tomorrow. So I worked on my galley insted. I have it all ruffed in all I have to do now is glue it in. No cabinets or any thing fancy yet but all the different levels are set. Cabinets will be the last thing I do. Tomorrow I am going to run wires. And work on the hatch. I still have to order windows, T molding , and a hurricane hing. That is unless any of you know of another hing that works that I could pick up at a hardware store? :D

Kirkman, cheep-o piano hinge at Lowes, 4ft for 10 bucks. However, you would be better off getting a hurricane hinge from Grant Whipp.

Roly... Thanks!

Day..8.. Got home late from work today so All I had time to do was run wires and install the roof insulation. I did however get the roof cut out and scarfed together. I will install the roof tomorrow and finish up the galley. Then it's on to the hatch and the door.
 She is starting to look good!!!! :D I am trying to get it done by June 29. That is the first trip I have planed to Massachusetts and I would like to make it in my new tear!

Day..9.. Installed the roof BY MY SELF what a job! My scarf joint in the front at the 19 degree bend started to come apart so I had to back it up with a peace of 1/2 inch ply then start over..... Made the hatch today I think I will wait to skin it tomorrow.

 What do you guys use on the outside of the roof at the scarf joint to make sure it does not leek there? Do you use epoxy and fiber glass tape. Or is there a better easier solution?

Thanks
Jason

Day..10... Did not do much today Hung out with my 9, 22 and 24 year old kids. I did how ever get most of the screw hols filed and glassed in the Roof scarf joint. Not much to do except skin the hatch, order the windows, hang the door and the hatch. Then paint her with durabak.

Any tips you guys and gals can give my on hanging the door an the hatch would be great!!!!!! I am worried about leaks!!!!!! Don't want to end up wet on my first outing! :D :worship: :D

Yeah, I keep thinking that I would have some better comments if I could see the darn thing. But it sounds like you are moving along at a good pace. Get a friend over there that has a camera. We all know at least one person with a camera addiction.

Day...11+12.. No progress... I am working in my drive way with out the cover of a garage and it is finally raining we have not had any rain in a wile. I am kind of at a stand still any way waiting for parts I just ordered. If the rain stops I will go out and glass in the in side joint of the wheel wells. I don't want that to fail in a down poor while driving and have a swimming pool when I get to the camp grounds.

Day...13 + 14...I skinned the hatch today, still waiting on parts. I guess I should have ordered them allot earlier!... Sanded all the Fiber Glass joints to get ready to apply the Durabak my friend promised to spray on for me!... Have any of you used Durabak and How did it turn out?

Called my buddy Bruce to come take some Pic's for all of you. Now lets see if he shows up! :worship:

Day...15 .. No sign of Bruce to take pic's yet.
Today I painted some of the inside and picked up a piano hing for my door. When I got home my T molding and Hurricane Hing from Grant at Little Bear had arrived so If I am Lucky I can get the door and the hatch mocked up. I cant hang it or install the hurricane hing until I get the Durabak sprayed on.... You know if the other parts arrive in the first part of the week I just might make my deadline of June 28.
:D  :D

Day..16.. I went to mock up/hang my hatch today and 2 of the 3/4 plywood spars broke from spring back I did not think it was possible but they did, so I spent the am backing them up and fixing that. Then when I went to hang it it does not exactly fit now. It's kind of sprung on one side. I will have to use some pretty strong draw down clamps to keep it closed. I knew things where going to smooth!
On a brighter note I got the second coat of paint on the inside. I also put epoxy on all of the end grain of the plywood to seal it real good. Tomorrow I am going to build some shelves/drink holders up front.

 Sometimes stuff happens. Just look at the rest and remember eventually it will be right. I know it is a lot of trouble but at some point I would rebuild the hatch. Have some fun first.

Day..17.. Today I painted the galley and made a shelf for up front to hold glasses/drinks. Tomorrow I will size the door to the correct size and seal the edges with epoxy.
 No Sign of Bruce with his camera yet ! :x
