OK, the Gen-Ben (or is it Gen-Roy) will be put on hold while I build a mini tear. War Pony planted a seed at Minden that my nephew needed a tear of his own. The idea rattled around on the way home. Put my TD away and there was the basis for a mini, just sitting there(actually had been sitting there a couple years).
Thinking off pulling the box off, and scrapping it, stretching the frame, and building a 40 inch wide, 3 foot tall by 6 foot long. Should I narrow the frame to drop the sides down(cover the frame with wall? Would 1/2 ply be strong enough? Thinking of only half(just an open shelf)the lower part would all be bed.

Eggbert is 3' tall 5'6" long and 40" wide I built a 2x4 box and rabbetted in a 7/16 top and bottom to the box with a couple intermediate crossmembers. I screwed the 7/16 osb side profile to the 2x4 box sides.
I have a diary of the complete build I could e-mail. pm me with an e-mail address and I'll send it if you want. I learned a lot from this little guy and I am using a lot of it in my 5x10 FAT BOY tear
