Postby Micro469 » Sun Jul 01, 2007 9:49 pm

Finally got to a point where I think it's worth posting a few pics. It's a good thing i love building this sucker, bcause it sure is time consuming...

O.K. Hatch ready for skin..

Final result...

Plastic hinge...I routed off the last layer of birch 1/8" on the roof and hatch and screwed the hinge down with Dap caulking underneath it. It came out level with the second layer of skin, I put the 1x2's on top to cover the screws..

Got the molding around the doors and rough cut the molding around the fenders...

Worked on the galley lid, got the handle on, got the plate holder on, got the light holes cut...will wait until i can test the lights before popping them in.... not sure I can get them back out..

Great job there! If I knew how to salute in canadian, I'd salute you. I'll just have to do it Texas style :chicken:
And I see my favorite fridge in there. The whole thing is really looking sweet.

John,
I don't know if it is the best way, but I have a window just like yours from Grant that I was planning on putting some plain flat molding around stained the same color as my interior wood. Plus I figured the curtain would help hide it. At least when it is down.

John....looks really great   I'm with Martha on the window treatment...I did the same thing, but trimmed it out in mohogany dyed with a walnut stain...and yeah, the curtains do hide a lot...Doug
