I bought the Kuffel Creek plans and think they're worth every penny. I'm using the plans as a guide and a roadmap, not a building bible.

I also downloaded the Generic Benroy plans from the link above and use them as a cross reference.

If I'd known how much info was in the Generic Benroy Plans and on this forum I might have not chosen to buy the KC plans.

Either way though, I don't regret buying them. They are just one of the tools I've got to make my build the best it can be.

Kevin Houser sells those plans all over the world, and I believe there are more tears built from his plans than any others. The one change that I would make in the plans would be to eliminate the "Ice Box" from the galley. I feel that space is more valuable for storage, since an extreme cooler will hold ice for 3 days (Walmart) and can be carried in the tow vehicle. If you have a problem with his plans, I understand that he will speak to you personally, if you call him.

Good luck on your build, it will be an event worth capturing in photos, and you should take plenty of them and, of course, post them on the board. Always feel free to ask any questions, we have all been there during our build adventures.

Roly :)

I bought those plans too, and I'm not a big fan of them. There are a few glaring errors (especially if you're bulding on the HF folding frame), and if you're not a mindreader or experienced builder, you don't know WHAT the hell they're talking about.

That being said, a lot of us bought those plans, ignored 80% of it, and built based on the advice we got here on this site. Those plans ARE great though for giving you the "big picture" as to a TD build.

But think about it:

They include an icebox in the galley, which only 1 out of 100 here actually build--especially with the great extreme coolers available today.

Finally, material availability VASTLY differs depending on where you live. Something you can only learn here, and not from those plans.

But Lynn's right:

The cost of those plans is chump change compared to all of the other money you're gonna spend, so in that respect, they're well worth it for that look into the big picture, and the order of your building steps.

Okay--I changed my mind. They ARE worth it, now that I recall everything that happened to me then more clearly now!

Image to the playground TJ. If you have questions just ask. I didn't buy plans but used the information on the board and the Generic Benroy. There is almost someone on if you have a question so just ask.

Also, picture make a world of difference in understanding and they keep the bubble oil level.
