Drip edge drip cap alternatives.

I forgot to order drip edge from Grant and cant find it or a drip cap around where I live. I really don't want to wait for one to get shipped. So I was wondering what other creative things some of you have come up with for a drip cap/edge??????????

Hey Kirk,

I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking of a piece of 1/2 aluminum angle for the rain gutter. Maybe some other will chime in.

We used 1/2 inch aluminum angle and haven't had leakage in the door since. 8)

I purchased my drip edge at a local RV Supply/Repair shop.

The last step in making my door was to attach a drip edge to the wall above the door. I made this out of salvaged vinyl from a replacement window company.

vinyl siding section of your favorite big box store will have a "J" strip that works well.
Its only a couple of bucks and its UV resistant too.
