...looks good George...I do have a question and a recommendation...how much do you like your knees...I don't know about you (Iam 6'2) but we built a similar height lower cabin cabinet and found it to be rough on the ol' knees when entering or turning over or getting up...in other words, the lower cabin cabinets where just plain in the way...even for my 5'2 wife(aka the poor girl)...that is my take but as Jim said...YMMV......

Ira - The wife and I discussed cabinet depth, galley vs cabin, it is still not in concrete, thanks for the input.

Doug - Will add a couple of inches, thanks

Bledsoe - I was thinking of that while laying it out, I think you have convinced me, shelves and larger doors.

Martha - The wife and I give it a test, the 4' width appeared to be roomy, we use a full size bed at home, 35 years of marriage, so it must be OK. Will expand the length a couple of inches to cover possible future sale when I build #2. Dang it, I said it again. Also, thanks for the support of the 4' width, that has had me a little nervous, I am glad to hear that it works for you and you like it.

Micro - Will expand, you guys have convinced me.

Madjack - never thought of it, will use Martha's mock up idea and see where to set it, thanks.

This is great, suggestions coming from people who have really been there and done that. What looks good on paper (or wood) isn't always practical.

In the spirit of creativity, I took another look at this post for other ideas. I decided that I really like the profile, the wood grain coloring, the trailer... regardless of how you finish it. Assuming that the Dodge is the tow vehicle (nice vehicle BTW)...how about a pic behind that Dodge to see how it sits? The reason why I suggest that is that I'm wondering if we can improve on how the "whole trailer/tow package" comes together. On the SlumberMAX (one of the world's slowest builds), my original profile looked vastly different behind the boxy Honda Element than it did behind the Taurus wagon.

As requested, pictures of the teardrop chassis with template and the tow vehicles. Will use the Dodge when just camping, the Xterra when going to a ride, my wife and I enjoy Road Bicycling and like to do tours. We have a floor rack for the Xterra so we can haul the bikes inside out of the weather and out of sight, bikes are not cheap. Also the Xterra is not yet rigged for towing, that is why the tongue jack is down in that picture.
