Just reserved a spot, with much difficulty and cussing.

I have no idea if I will be able to make it that weekend, but I commited, anyway. If not, spill some beer on my deck so it will be just like I was there.

The park peace officers really don't want to to write tickets for it, so unless you're walking around the park with a beer, they usually won't say anything. If you are inside your camper, then you can do what you want. If you're in your campsite away from public view, then they usually won't mess with you either. Now if you're being loud and rowdy (like most teardroppers ;) ) they *will* do something about it.

...that is exatly what I meant(inferred)...most state and national parks have similar rules to help keep the rowdy in line.....

Here's another one many people don't know - it's also now against the law (not just frowned upon) to feed wildlife in a state park. Raccoons, opossums, deer, birds, etc. I'm not sure what they'll do if you give wildlife alcohol?

Okay, okay. I can take a hint. I'll keep Jake's drinking under control. :D
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

That's why you don't display your container. ;)

What about the wildlife that will be camping there?

Pour your beer in a mug, drop a scoop of ice cream in, and tell them it is a rootbeer float without all that crappy root business. :?

Vodka and orange juice looks just like orange juice.

Bourbon and coke looks just like coke.

I'm an experienced drunk. I know how to do this. :R

Reservation made and paid in full.
We'll be arriving late, since I (Joanne) have to work all day and then we'll have to drive from Texarkana.

Alright!...I count 14 reservations so far. Sounds like we have a genuine gathering coming up.

Everyone, I will not be on the forum for a while as we are taking a trip for a while and I don't have a laptop, but please everyone get your reservations early and I'll check in when we get back.

Me and Noel are planning to attend, Planning is the key word.. Will have to see what the kids have going in school at the time. I will have to wait a few weeks to make a reservation. Hopefully we will still be able to get in.

Sounds like it will be a good get together.

School, schmool. Get your priorities straight man. What's more important, kids in school, or the first Central Texas gathering? Don't let those kids hold you back from what you know is right.

Got my confirmations! This is shaping up to be a nice little gathering. Maybe someone can contact the Austin 'Merican Statesman and reference the NY Times article. And since we Texuns are such an interesting folk, maybe we can generate some better press.

In any case, this is gonna be fun. For you folk that are on the fence, or coming up with flimsy excuses--get your collective butts to the lake even if it is for just a little visit. You deserve to meet us and bask in the glow of our enjoyment!
