That sounds like the 990 # trailer with 8" wheels. You probably don't want to build with wheels THAT small.

Wait for this one to go on sale... (the 1175# with 12" wheels)

btw---by the time you take the extra 15% off from a coupon it is very close to the price of the smaller trailer. ;)

You can get the coupon in the HF flyer or online. You can also call the store and see if they will do both the sale and the coupon. They can let you know where to get a coupon in your area. 8)

I'm mistaken. It is the one with 12" wheels. Yea, you could use that. But this sale ends July 9th.

Vintage, if you go with the cheaper folding one with 12" wheels (I did), there are some minor modifications you make to it when assembling. A lot of us did this, per the Cubby plans:

Basically, there are two pieces of steel intended to be used as cross members. Instead, we inserted those pieces in the channels where the side rails meet on each side to beef it up in the middle. (The sides are composed of TWO pieces, designed to fold in the middle.)

So now it don't fold, but now you're a cross-member short for the center--so you put lumber there instead.

I think I caught the teardrop bug cause Id rather hang out on this site than work. Looks like I better start my build soon before this becomes an obsession!

I'm with you! I need to get my build going before too long as well. My wife always looks over and sees me on this forum and just rolls her eyes...then she reminds me that I have to finish the room addtion first. Talk about a buzzkill! I've redesigned my tear about a thousand times, then I'm sure I'll find things I want to change once I get it built.
