All you folks are so sweet!! I never, in a million years ,would have gotten this far without your support, advice, and atta-girls.

Rocky...huh? 15 weeks...oh my...when put that way it's kind of scary. I still have to do the trim on the other side and the doors...and get the tag... and ...what else???

None of it is glued down yet. So my choice stuff is....... I have had so many opinions given on this matter.... I am going to use PL Construction Adheasive and pray it is the right chioce.

What would you do??? Besides epoxy?...The thought of epoxy make me shudder...

MK, that is right on da monet' ...be sure to seal it to front trim and under the hinge/trim back to the center of the hinge...while I am a proponent of urethane sealers, the construction adhesive has one negative...it is pretty well a permanent fix...if you should use it on a place that might need removal in the future, it could pose a real problem...we use 1part auto windshield sealant/adhesive and I am going to give SikaFlex 221 a try on the future build...they are both 1part sealers with a slight adhesive side to them....

There are a few that have put your type hinge and with the wood trim as you
have. Steve Cox comes to mind. I would take advice from someone who
has walked the walk. However I would want something with some flexable
give and a rubbery feel to facilitate movement. Silicone comes to mind.

Reinventing a wheel when it comes to potential water leaks is not what you

AH!!! See this I did not understand. Now it is clear. I thought I had 2 choices of either adheasive or sealer, but not both. that is why I was going for the PL Adheasive.

Okay so, for the the hatch hinge and hinge trim I will go find me some SikaFlex 221. Better go right that down.... It will be a few weeks before I glue the trim anyway, so I got time to find it.

Yep I am gonna do it. That is the most beautiful rain diverter I have seen---however---what will you do to trim the top trim to it? I really want to know cause I am copying!
