Ross:

I am a new member as of yesterday! I will also be joining the campout at Ft. Clinch. I made my reservation today and will be campsite #57. I am looking forward to meeting your group - they sound like a lot of fun. Please let me know what I can contribute as far as food. Will there be any dutch oven cooking going on?

...watchout for those SE boyz, especially if Woody and Ellen show up(and Chip) with some evil concoctions to drink...remember you have a worldwide reputation to uphold(no pressure)...oh yeah...welcome to the out little fun house......

Yes, I am still lost here in Gator land and miss my Louisiana so bad. But, gotta be here while the money is good. Are you going to the Ft. Clinch get together?

...sadly no Rebecca, I am going to the PetitJean Mountain Ar. gathering the week before and busy building and planning for the 2nd Annual Louisiana Cypresswood Gathering at Lake Bistineau SP near Shreveport at the end of Oct.......

No Kidding. I have to agree with Chip on this one that hurts. I mean we have reputations and stuff to hold up here in the south don't ya know.We southerners need to stick together :lol:

Rebecca...Ellen, Woody's wife has a rep, so be careful...you should be able to handle it though...it's them yankees who keep runnin' up the white flag of surrender...however, be careful of speed bumps, roots and chupacabras(you'll learn)

Glad you found us and are coming to the gathering. Like always it is a goodtime, good people and just great friendships old and new. But Shhh on how good of time ya had. We don't want the rest of them to get envious or anything like that. We may have to get bigger campgrounds to accomodate them all. So SHHHHHH it is our little secret in the SE :lol:

ALRIGHT FOLKS...HERE IS THE SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER MENU............

We have decided to have a Low Country Shrimp Boil and a BBQ Cook-Off

For those who would like to contribute to the Low Country Boil, we will need: 3 lbs of shrimp, 3 kielbasa's, 5 lbs of potatoes, and 3 packs of 9 corn nibblets....thats a pretty full pot there and it will feed 12-15 people easy. The SHRIMP will be purchased locally, when we get there.

For those who don't like or are allergic to seafood, there will be a BBQ Cook-Off. This could be ribs, briskit, chicken...etc.

Dutch Oven side dishes are always welcome. Just remember the DO rule-of-thumb.......fix enough for 2 - 4 people. Believe it or not, but that is more then enough food and there isn't much left over at the end of the meal.

Plates, napkins, eattin ware always helps too. Let's know what you can contribute so we can make sure that everything is covered.

The list of food and items begins:

Mary Ann: Chocolate Chip Cookies
Steve : Dry Rub ribs
Jim : Tater salad
Woody : Ribs
Ross : Shrimp for the boil
Bob D : taters and onions for the boil

I am ordering another cake with a picture on top. The last one was such a hit and was gone in no time! The cookies are for eating anytime.

I had no idea Madjack you are scared of my wife and her rep. :shock:

That's why we haven't seen ya in our neck of the woods. :lol:

She single handedly whipped the north into a flag of surrender in no less than three hours armed with a shot glass and a smile at the North meets the South Gathering last August. Although lots of stories came from that one gathering and some new nicknames also. I won't mention who it was, they just know who they are :roll:
