milo wrote:Hi all, We have never attended a T&TTT event before, but this one looks like a good place to start. One question- are these events in general family friendly? We have a 6 year old as a camping companion. I hope to have my TTT at least 90% outside- 50% inside before the end of Oct. I am going to go ahead and reserve a spot. Maybe that will be the push I need to get this TTT done.

My experience at ITG2 is that if you are 90/50% complete...you will be more than some and less than others...it don't matter! COME ANY WAY!!!

Has anyone been to the Chimp Haven close to Shreveport? Looks fairly interesting.

Just doing some planning

Mc, I have never been to the chimp haven but it is pretty close by the campground(30-40mi) there is also a neat alligator farm(touristy) about 50 mi south of the campground as well...if there is an interest, I will contact either or both about a group tour...

DG, bring the kids, there is no additional charge, I am working on a logo for T shirts which will sell for around 10-12 bucks...

Hi all, I just reserved #63. We are looking forward to our first gathering. Now we just need to get busy with our new trailer. We hope to have it campable in time. Really looking forward to meeting folks and seeing all of the great trailers that are going to be there. Later, Milo.

 Some Southern rules. Never play in the pretty moss. It does not make a good fort. (red bugs aka chiggers) Skeeters don't like deet unless I have it on. Gaters think leather boots are food so some good climbing shoes work best. 8) Got that Keith

Seriously I have never seen a live, not captive gater and I was raised in Fla. Cotton Mouths are different. They will not run away so trying to get them outta the fishing spot doesn't work. Easier to move.

Living in Port Arthur, we would often go to a Duck Hunting camp that Gulf Oil owned near Sabine Pass. In the evening, you could sit quietly on the bank of the swamp, and one by one, eyes and snouts would rise up to the water's surface. We'd quietly sit and watch the gators, who where quietly watching us.

vipercairo wrote:Yeah MJ... I know that now... but I was pretty young then so those Cajun gentlemen thought I needed some hands-on learnin' about being a "troll-ee. It's not a big deal... gators usually don't swim as fast as an I/O SeaRay! ;)

They got those pesky critters down in Florida too, that's where I developed my slice to keep from putting the ball near the course ponds. I noted your La. CHL doesn't restrict state parks on their website. Hmmmm!

Anyway... folks from Colorado and Kansas shouldn't be nervous in Louisiana... ya just gotta keep puttin the logs on the campfire.

I think LA gators are less agressive than Florida gators. It could be the plentiful supply of Nutrea to eat. Like me, gators are usually only a problem when they are hungry.

I just looked at the map, and we are very close to OWNING that loop. Time to start evangelizing! Go forth, and become fishers of teardrops for the kingdom of MadJack.

Bringing in the tears, bringing in the tears,
We shall go a camping, bringing in the tears.

Can I hear a AMEN, brotha. 8)
