Well, I suffered through it and completed the trim around one fender.

Don't mind the pencil marks, I have to do some sanding. I will need to fill some little gaps too... :thinking:

One side of the the trim is done!!! :applause:

One more to go.

Seriously, great looking trim. You are really doing a great job for someone that says they have no woodworking experience. You should be proud of that job.

Wow, Mary K, you are stealing my stuff. Wooden fenders with curved wooden molding.......what a concept. I would like to know how you fastened the fenders to the tear and also, what are you going to waterproof the underside with?

I was told that my 1/8" fenders wouldn't hold up, someone might sit on it. In answer to that, I hop up on the rear part of the fender and jump up and down on it, explaining that I think it passes the "Jump Test". (Little do they know that there is a welded steel license plate bracket below the fender, in that very spot where I perform my antics.)

I probably have 50 glue blocks under each fender, securing the inner and outer verticals. It is shot with Line-X truck bed liner to waterproof it. Don't pay any attention to the pencil mark comments, my work usually looks like a doodle scratchpad before I am finished.

Dooner, I'm shooting for this weekend to get the other side complete. It should be easier considering I have a template now.

As you can see I made some beefy fenders. 3/4" ply and skinned with luan and then 1/8" Birch.

I fastened with 3 bolts and big washers.

I used this stuff to seal between the side wall and fender.

I did a test piece of the PL sealant and I can NOT get the 2 pieces of wood apart. So That fender is not going anywhere.

Here is an odd angle looking at the underside of the fender.

I coated the fender using the really THICK roofing goop (technical term) I bought by mistake when I did the floor.

Steve & DG..Yall are just going to have to deal with the pencil marks :Oh Brother:
